Disappointing Experience with Deporvillage
I recently had an unfortunate shopping experience with Deporvillage that I feel compelled to share to warn potential customers.
Firstly, my initial order was delayed by three weeks with no proactive communication from the company. It was only after I reached out to inquire about the shipment that I was informed of the delay—apparently due to an unavailable item from a sub-contractor. I was given the choice to either cancel my entire order or proceed without the said item. I opted for the latter, which in hindsight, was a mistake.
Upon arrival of the package after this hiccup, I found that some items didn't fit. I decided to return them, only to discover that the return shipping costs to Spain were my responsibility—a hefty 15 EUR on a 60 EUR return. This information was not made clear during the purchase process but buried in fine print on a distant page of their website. This lack of transparency about potential extra costs severely dampened my customer experience.
Additionally, I was required to choose the carrier myself and ensure the package was sent with tracking. I fulfilled these requirements through DHL. According to the tracking information, the package arrived at Deporvillage's facility within ten days. However, my attempts to secure a refund became a saga. Despite multiple emails and follow-ups using their prescribed contact forms, the support team was largely unresponsive. When they did reply, they claimed the package either hadn't arrived or hadn't been processed. Despite providing all necessary documentation and tracking details proving delivery, I was told months later that the package was missing and was asked to submit additional proof.
According to German law, the shop is responsible for the safety of returns. Nevertheless, I will not initiate legal action since the sum involved is too low. This is probably what the shop counts on.
In conclusion, dealing with Deporvillage was frustrating and costly. The lack of proactive communication, transparency about costs, and effective customer service support has left me very disappointed. I strongly advise against shopping with this company, as the risk of encountering similar issues seems high based on my experience.
