Can't believe this company is even in business. Went to pick up the car at the tiny facility outside Tampa airport in May 2024. Was told there was a $500 deposit that would be charged to my credit card until the car was returned. The agent at the desk demanded to see a copy of my car insurance policy, otherwise I would have to pay $44 per day for the company to insure the car. Who carries around their auto insurance policy? After 15 minutes on the phone with my insurance company, I gave up and paid the $44 a day. I asked the agent what insurance company I was now paying for, and he informed me that the company (Easirent) was self-insured. I asked him for a copy of the insurance policy, and he said he didn't have one. So, they can demand a copy of my insurance policy, but I have no idea what insurance I am buying from Easirent for $44 a day. Since we were late to an appointment, we decided to proceed anyway. Alas, the car they gave us had no gas in it (it was empty) so we had to stop to get some gas. Easirent is apparently a British company that is trying to do business in America. They are not going to last if I can help it.
