I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Harvey Norman. On September 13th, I placed an order for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which was advertised for pickup starting September 20th. Excited, I visited the store on the promised date, only to be told the item was on backorder with no clear ETA. After daily follow-ups, I was eventually informed that the delivery could take an additional 4-6 weeks!
This was a birthday gift I’d planned for myself, and the constant delays and lack of communication from Harvey Norman caused me a lot of unnecessary stress. What’s worse is that when I requested a refund, they told me it would take another week to process. Now, I can't even find the phone anywhere else, as other stores have sold out.
Harvey Norman clearly advertised false availability dates to lure customers into pre-ordering. It’s especially frustrating considering other retailers managed to serve their customers on time, while Harvey Norman hasn’t fulfilled a single pre-order. To top it off, their customer service was unhelpful and non-transparent throughout this process.
As a long-time Apple customer, I’m also disappointed that Apple allows such a reseller to handle their products with such poor service. This experience has left me with a bad taste, and I would strongly caution others from trusting Harvey Norman’s pre-order promises, especially when it comes to high-demand items like new Apple products.
