Having waited over a week for a large navy velvet bedspread RRP £135 to arrive, I opened the package only to find out La Redoute had sent a totally different smaller, cream and grey bedspread RRP £40 on their site. Initially I was disappointed but patient hoping that their customer service would be friendly, helpful and apologetic about the inconvenience and that they would do their best to put it right as any other online company would do. Well I was wrong!
Standard 'sorry to hear about your experience' followed by return the parcel, wait for your refund and then order the item again. No exchange, no real acknowledgment of the fact this is THEIR fault, not mine. I work six days a week, full-time and now have to find time to take care of this return of something I had never even ordered.
Judging by the reviews on here, I am not alone in either receiving the wrong item and then finding out that La Redoute 'customer service' consists of nothing more than parroting generic blanket apology statements, offering no explanation or compensation for the mistakes made on their part before inconveniencing their paying customers further. Working in retail myself, I've never known anything like it! I could never provide such a poor service to customers, especially if the mistake was my own.
I wish I'd shopped elsewhere and will do in future.
