I have never seen a job messed up as bad as UPS has messed up delivering an item that I am still waiting for. Totally inexcusable.
My item was supposed to be delivered Thursday but didn't even reach New Stanton, PA until 11:17 Thursday morning. It still had two more stops before being put on a delivery truck so on Thursday the expected delivery changed to Friday. Problem is my package sat in New Stanton all day Thursday and all day Friday, so my tracking then updated to an expected delivery of today. I even did text with customer service yesterday who assured me that the package would finally be delivered today. Only my package didn't depart New Stanton until 3:28 this morning. It reached Pleasant Valley, WV at 5:10 AM and departed there at 9:12 AM, too late for it to reach it's finally location to be delivered today ..... AS PROMISED!! Why is it that Pleasant Valley, WV was able to receive my package and send it back out 4 hours later, something that took New Stanton 2 days to do?!?
Now some of you may be thinking "we've all dealt with late deliveries, get over it" and typically that is my way of looking at it but the whole disaster hasn't even been told yet. This is the 2nd attempt by UPS to deliver my package. I ordered this item over 2 weeks ago. The first time they were able to transfer it all the way to it's final UPS facility where it was then damaged and sent back to the seller with no attempt made at delivery. This is an item I urgently need for work. I urgently needed it at the time I ordered it, over 2 weeks ago. So now here I am still paying money to rent an item that I paid a ton of money to purchase 2 weeks ago.
This package weighs over 100 lbs and is a very well built and durable piece of equipment, extreme negligence would be necessary in order to damage it to the point it couldn't be delivered. If 100 lbs is too much for you get help. Use a dolly. Take your time. I feel like this thing, in a box, could be dropped off a loading dock and not get destroyed to the point of not being delivered so I'd really like to know what happened to that first package. Too many in this country just don't care. Either don't want to work or work because they have to but don't want to be there and don't care about their performance as a result. So they destroy stuff that people paid for and then we as a customer have to try to get answers from outsourced foreign customer service we can hardly communicate with.
More than being angry or any other feeling I am sad for this country and what it's become. What has happened to us as Americans and our work ethic? Keeping the customer happy and taking pride in our work used to mean something. This country is crumbling and we better get it figured quick before it's too late. Who knows, maybe it already is.
