“What a company this is, simple wire repair, engineer was here for 20 mins, had to repair a simple nicked cable, under their prices shown on their website £160 perfect I thought, once complete the woman on the end of the phone literally demanded I pay 320 with no explanation as to why this was double the advertised price ! The engineer on sight himself was confused and didn’t understand the price for a wire repair. Don’t use this company it’s a rip off”

“The £45 call-out fee is what gets you through the door. That's the attractive headline price. What comes afterwards is a very different story. I was quoted £45 for the call-out. The attending engineer then called to ask for approval to fit a replacement part costing £85, which I agreed to. The repair took around one hour, and the engineer was excellent. Then I received a demand for £439. That included £305 for around one hour of labour and testing – a charge that was never mentioned before the work started. When I challenged it, I was repeatedly told the pricing was available on the company's website. I checked thoroughly and couldn't find any labour rates or pricing that supported what I was being charged. From my experience, the low call-out price appears to be used to secure the booking, while the real cost only becomes apparent once the work has been completed. The engineer himself was professional, courteous and completed the repair quickly. My complaint is entirely with the pricing practices and lack of transparency from 24/7 Emergency Services. If you use this company, get the total labour cost in writing before authorising any work. A £45 call-out can very quickly turn into a bill running into hundreds of pounds.”

“unfortunately there was no option to give 0 rating i had a block toilet, when i called they told me its £45 (did not specify if it was including Vat ) all they said is i pay the technician on site and they will let me know of any labour charges for repairs etc Did not even specify if the 45 was for call only No one clarified what would be the totL cost, at the end of the job, they said to unblock a toilet with no repair required and job done in under 2 mins, my bill was. 365£ absolutely rude and insane hidden costs. I am never coming back”

“DO NOT EVER USE THEM!!! Had F75 fault on boiler, vaillant came out and changed new pump and new pressure sensor. One week later the fault was on there again so i called 247 best engineers, they told me that someone can be with me within 90mins for a callout charge of £45 and when the engineer comes out they will tell me what the problem is b4 giving me a quote so i said ok. Engineer came within 90mins but i found by googling the proplem that if i press the reset button for 3 seconds it should do the trick so i did and it worked so nothing needed to be fixed. I was then told by the company that i need to pay £450 which shocked me because i was not expecting that. I refused to pay as they did not do anything to fix the boiler so they said they would lowerit to £300 which is still extortionate as i was told on the phone that the callout charge is £45. The guy on the phone is RUDE and they just rip you off!!!!”

“Company arrived late, but did a good job. It took them ten minutes to repair a blocked sink. However, they quoted £45 and charged £540”

“Absolutely disgusting Crooks is the only word that springs to mind I was told 45 pounds over the phone with three other people that heard the conversation as witnesses I was told of nothing about the other 140 pounds that was on top after half hour of diagnosis then to be told they don’t repair electric”

“Absolutely disgusting service, cost £425 for a 30 minute job which the technician dragged to an hour unnecessarily, with the parts we paid and provided. No mention of the labour costs and they hooked us with a £45 consultation fee and did not specify ANY other charges. No charges or quotes were given before the job started which is dishonest and greedy on their part. No mention of absurd rates on their website and they plastered positive reviews on their website. Absolutely avoid them they will scam you”

“Absolutely disgusting I still have the leak , he didn't touch anything just took a photo and asked me what was happening, he then went to car to call someone and from that photo; he came back with a price of £200 for two things totalling £400.....? But STILL did not tell me the problem. I decided not to let this unprofessional do any work as he said if he couldn't fix it, he would have to call in a specialist which would be more money. I paid the £70 callout I still have the leak what's the world coming to? £70 and he didn't even bend down. Or stop the leak as you can see in photo.”

“Boiler was fixed in 10min. But the company charged me £410. What a rip off - they knew what they were doing. Won’t be using again. Was only told about the call out charge of £50. Would have been great to be told the estimate cost before repairing - I would have avoided it.”

“Called for an emergency gas engineer as carbon monoxide alarm went off. Advised callout charge was £49. Engineer came within an hour. Checked everything out and advised no leak. Changed batteries and then rang company to let them know job completed. He was here for about 30 minutes. Company told me charge would be £350. I told them that was exorbitant. Eventually they agreed to £200 but engineer felt that was still too much as he would only have charged £50 plus callout charge. The company kept ringing me and pressurising me. I'm an OAP. I WOULD NEVER use this company again and can't actually find them on the Companies House register.”

“They are doing well with taking people for a ride. Call out charge is reasonable at £49 but no indication of charges beyond that and in an emergency one goes ahead with it. 15 minutes later, the charge is quoted at £349! Inspection Fee £40.00 Diagnostic Charges £80.00 Labor Charges £180 Having paid I remembered that their website says order now and get 20% off. After sending 4 emails with no replies I am writing as many reviews as possible to warn people off.”

“Make sure you have an idea of cost before you confirm callout, pretty much a blank cheque to charge what they want, extortionate, £439 for a callout and an hours work, absolute joke!!!”

“Total rip off. £49 to come round, fair enough. I supplied the part guy spent 20 minutes fitting it. £199 Would not give any sort of estimate on the phone then exploited us being in desperate situation. Do not use these people if possible.”

“There was a lady on the phone who told me the call-out fee would be £49–£50. Then at the end, the same lady charged me £369. I honestly don’t understand how she could even decide that price when she wasn’t here and had no idea what work was actually done. It made the whole thing feel completely off from the start. One of the most infuriating experiences I’ve ever had with any service company. The engineer was here for about 10 minutes and basically just flicked a switch, and then suddenly I’m hit with a £369 bill. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked for a receipt or a breakdown of the charges, and I was told I’d only get it after paying. Well, I paid and I still haven’t received anything. No receipt, no breakdown, nothing. The whole situation felt extremely dodgy and totally lacking transparency. If I had known the real price beforehand, there is no chance I would have used this company. From beginning to end it felt like a complete rip-off. If you’re thinking of calling them, don’t unless you’re prepared for surprise charges and zero explanation.”

“The engineer nor the company provided me with an estimate for the job. To my shocking surprise I was charged a whopping £348 for a 45 mins work which involved putting parts for £5.00. I was unaware of their exorbitant charges for 30 mins. If i was provided an estimate I would have paid the call out only. I have a feeling this company might have ripped of others too. No complaints on the engineer's work tho! Very disappointed and feel that I am being robbed.”

“This was by far my worst experience with a company. Fast Gas Plumbing was recommended to me to check a leak in my boiler tank. Before their arrival, I explained over the phone that the leak was coming from beneath the tank, expecting that they’d come prepared to fix it. Instead, they spent 10 minutes just messing around my tank and restating the issue I had already identified. No repair was made, yet they still asked for £229. I would strongly advise avoiding this company.”
