A disappointing experience for a simple tap replacenent which took 2 visits as the plumber didn’t check his work before leaving the first time. Expensive bills both times! Not interested in a dialogue or customer service regarding billing.

Dear Customer We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with our charges and the service provided. We are aware that your job was to replace a tap that you supplied. We quoted you £85.00 +VAT to install the tap, which you agreed to the price before we attended site to carry out the work. Once completed the bill was £85.00 +VAT as originally quoted and agreed. Four days later you called to say the tap was leaking. We explained that all of our work comes with a 1 year guarantee so if it was anything to do with our work it would be free of charge, however if it was the tap which was supplied by yourself then it would not be covered by our guarantee. We attended site the next day as agreed and on arrival found it was the tap that was faulty, although it was a manufacturing defect and not related to our work we carried out a repair which we charged £22.50 +VAT. Unfortunately we cannot extend our guarantee to cover parts that we do not supply so on this occasion it meant we made a small charge to rectify the manufacturing defect. We have corresponded with yourself by phone to explain the circumstances but unfortunately you were unhappy that we could not carry out the repair to the tap you supplied for free. Best Regards A&D Plumbing Services

Fault on the appliance was wrongly diagnosed. Charged nearly £3oo,and left with an unusable fire, and told it was obsolete. Having fitted"Parts", (a new regulator), which can be bought for about £50, we were charged £142. We had to pay another registered fitter to inspect and certify minor work we carried out ourselves having sourced the "obsolete" material on the internet.. Correspondence with A&D has been totally unsatisfactory,in fact, derisory. Offered £10 because we are OAP's----but we should have asked for it at initial contact!

Dear Mr Manson We are very sorry to hear you are unhappy with our service. Our team attended your property on 21/12/17 regarding an old and faulty gas fire that was found to also have a dangerous regulator due to its poor condition. We fitted a new high-quality regulator - you can obtain regulators for less, however these are of a cheaper quality and are only single regulators and not dual regulators such as the one we installed for you. Once installation was complete, our technicians could then test the fire, upon which we identified various faults with the fire and some seals/gaskets. After further investigation, we discovered the parts were obsolete - this unfortunately meant that your fire could not be repaired, and only the dangerous regulator issue could be rectified. We have replied to all your letters promptly - you state you obtained raw materials to make some parts yourself, and then fitted them. A&D Plumbing could not have done this ourselves, as the parts would not have passed British Standards. You supplied us with an invoice from another company, showing you had the fire serviced on 08/02/18. This invoice does not state we carried out incorrect work or misdiagnosed any faults with the fire. A fire containing homemade parts would have made it illegal for us to service the appliance and sign it off as safe in this manner. Our charges on your invoice reflect the time on site to replace the dangerous regulator and the parts required. We do offer OAP discounts of 10% off the labour charge, as advertised, although this usually has to be requested at the time of booking. Again, we are sorry that you are unhappy with our service, but at A&D Plumbing Services we take safety seriously and are not prepared to undertake illegal or unsafe gas works. Best Regards, A&D Plumbing Services

On 23 June 2016, I called you because There was a water leak in the Airing Cupboard from the Pump and the cylinder. I wanted you to stop the water leak and stop the water from going to the ceiling of the kitchen. your engineer came and stop the main water only and told me that the water leak will stop after a while may be 2-4 hours. He spent about an hour waiting in the car telling me that he is waiting to receive the quotation from the office. After an hour the quotation had not arrived and he asked me for my email to send the quotation later. I paid the 96 pounds by Cheque to him. I was waiting for water leak to stop but it did stop and I spent all night drying the water by towels until the other engineer came in the afternoon of the day after from the insurance company and stop the leak from the tank up in the loft and he surprised why your engineer left this tank on. I wounder why your engineer did stop the leak from the upper tank and why I paid the money, what was for? If you fair enough I want you to apologise and refund my money

Dear Mrs Ibrahim, We’re sorry you were not happy with the service we provided on this occasion. Unfortunately this is the first we have heard from you on the matter so we have not had chance to discuss your concerns until now. When we attended the site it was made clear to our engineer that we were to keep the costs to a minimum, which he did by draining the tanks and isolating them. The water that had accumulated in the ceiling could only be removed by causing further damage to the ceiling, which would have increased your expenditure. Our engineer did turn your mains water back on after isolating the tanks so that you would at least have access to water. We apologise for the delay in getting the quotes to you, although we hope you will appreciate that this was partly due to the various options you asked us to quote for, and in the interests of being thorough with your requests and the information we supplied to you, this process took a little longer than ususal. We did however manage to get the detailed quotes to you within 70 minutes of you requesting them as we knew you wanted the work carried out as quickly as possible, if you chose to proceed. The time our engineer spent waiting was not added to you bill. We offer a 1 year guarantee on all our work and would have been happy to re-attend site to rectify any issues. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please don't hesitate to get back in touch with us.

Plumber came to fix our toilet. Fitted a faulty part and didn't fix all the problems. We've spent £200 already with A&D and the toilet still doesn't work properly. Feel totally ripped off.

Dear Mrs Freeman We are sorry you feel this way. Unfortunately until the new button was fitted on your toilet it was not possible to test the other parts. With regards to the faulty part, we have already attended free of charge to identify that the part is faulty; occasionally parts are faulty which is out of our control, but we cover this under our guarantee. We are currently waiting for a new button to arrive so we can replace the faulty button, which as you know, we will carry out free of charge under our guarantee. Best Regards A&D Plumbing Services

The engineer that checked my oil fired boiler, only pushed the reset button, to get the boiler running. Then he checked the exhaust, stating that it was running perfect. He did not check anything else. A few hours after he left, the boiler went off & relit after four minutes. It has been doing this ever since, with some mornings, not coming on, at all. I have to then hit the reset and there after, it will go off, after four minutes. I haven't called the engineer back, for fear of being charged another 96 pounds.

Hello Mr Dunbar We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with our service. Although we do offer 180 days guarantee on all our work which is printed on the paperwork, so if you had called to say the boiler had stopped working we could have sent the engineer back the same day or the next day at the latest which would have been free of charge. Our engineer carried out a full combustion test on the boiler which the results were all within acceptable levels. The engineer did note that the boiler was 12 years overdue for a service which he conveyed to you and wrote it in the recommendations section of the job sheet. Best Regards Dan A&D
