“My experience with the company hasnt really as bad as most of the reviews. The free Kobee phone is small, making the key pad difficult to use and it takes lousy pics. But the connectivity has been ok. Sometimes the Philipina customer service reps are difficult to understand, but theyve all been friendly enough. I tried 3 times to change my e911 addy after I moved, but 3 times they screwed it up so I just had the last person change it back.”
“The phone isn't too responsive for a low end TCL Android lite phone, that being said, it was new and other than the reminders to use the thing it has been reliable and good so no complaints, thank you Assurance Wireless!”
“This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my 50 years of dealing with companies and customer service people. I called for my 98 yrs old mother to find out why her cell phone was as disconnected. I was told that they disconnected her service because she signed up with another carrier. I told them she never switched carriers. They said someone must have gotten her information and switch her to a different carrier. I asked what service they hooked up with and I was told they couldn’t answer that question. They offered to send her a new application to sign back up for the free government cell phone. That meant she had to get a new phone number and transfer all her contacts by herself manually. A few months later the same thing happened and they told me the same story as before. I told them that she is 98 yrs old and must have a working phone. They told me to put money on the phone so she would be able to use it until I was able to get her a new phone and a new carrier. I told my mother to use the phone only in an emergency. Two days later I tried to call her and the phone was again disconnected. When I called back assurance (every call takes forever for someone to answer) Customer service said after 24 hrs the phone gets disconnected. They said the money is in her account because she didn’t make any calls. I asked for a supervisor and was on hold for 45 minutes. When she answered
(I was hoping she spoke better English than the other representative, no luck with that) she told me exactly the same thing as that the customer service women had given me. I asked her why I wasn’t informed that they will only keep the phone on for 24 hours when you put money on it she had no answer. I took it upon myself to get my mother the jitterbug smart 4 telephone. You deal with the company called Lively, they are phenomenal. It’s the best thing I did for my mother. This company is a rip off. They all lie and they don’t give you necessary information and none of them speak good English. I wouldn’t even rate them one star. Don’t even consider Assurance for a phone. It is horrible just horrible.”
