“This was my third purchase of backdoor shoes. The first pair had very low uppers around the heels rather like bedroom slippers. The second pair I ordered had higher uppers around the heel which gripped the heels when walking. They are excellent and I still have them. The third pair just received from you are disappointing as they have reverted to the old slip on style which are good for shuffling along but not for proper gardening as the earth gets in via the heels. Kind regards Paul Walters”

“My husband loves his Backdoor shoes and living rurally are an extremely useful item of footwear. Unfortunately mine are not wide enough for me, even though I bought men's rather than women's, which is rather disappointing - so I will have to return them or give them away.”

“Delivered very promptly, despite pre - Christmas week order. Shoes were great quality but unfortunately too small & had to be returned at cost of £4. Ouch. I ordered the navy blue ‘medical’ clogs in an 8, the largest size available & the size required, but far too ‘neat’. I’m not sure I like the alternative - black clumpier style & they are billed as requiring to size up. In short, there seems to be some challenges re sizing. My hospital dentist daughter is delighted with hers but she did try on at Burghley Horse Trials, so sizing not an issue if you can try. Not sure I’ll reorder as returns are costly.”

“I love my backdoor shoes but have the problem that the soles wear smooth very quickly and then slip easily on a wet surface, whether it is on wet paving slabs in the garden or on a slightly wet kitchen floor. This is potentially dangerous. I enquired some time ago about the chunky sole on ladies’ sizes but they have not yet materialized.”

“I actually love the fit of backdrop shoes, I am always disappointed that they barely last a season for the price you pay, the sole always wears so fast, this time I purchased the heavy duty sole so I hopefully they will last longer”

“Packaging, delivery and range of patterns all excellent. I hope a brilliant gift for someone working in a hedgehog rescue. Personally, I would welcome something heavier in similar styles - a Wellington type sole for digging.”
