“We have used this and similar villas in the past and knew pretty much what to expect. There were one or two things not quite right this time but it's probably to be expected that not eberything is perfect.
Very surprised that there was only one umbrella on the poolside. Surley not enough for a villa with accomodation for 6 people in temperatures over 30degrees C. You managed to get another one, initially without the base and we managed with this but only because there was only 4 of us. The housekeeper being sick on her schedued visit day also caused some difficulties because we didn't have access to clean towels (they were actually there but locked up in a cupboard). No carving knife didn't help adn as usual in Barbados very little information about electrical item usage and particularly a very poor guide to TV.
Kim did a good housekeeping job but I think 3 hours just isn;t quite enough when all the bedrooms are in use.
We got 2 messages setting out different recommendations for tipping. We expect to give tips for exceptional service but it should be just that, and not made to feel like a compulsory charge. Telling us what to give obviously gives staff a mark which seems to represent a minimum to them. I certainly think you shouldn't be issuing guidlines. I can easily see that doing this is not in staff's best interest. It could easily put visitors off, I think.
