“After a fall at home I was taken, by ambulance, to Basildon Hospital. A and E was extremely busy so there was a wait in the ambulance(excellent staff). After a while a sister came out, took blood samples and inserted a canula. A fter a little while longer ye ambulance staff were able to take me for CT head scans and x-rays of my hand/wrist and foot. I then waited for a Dr to be available. She gave me a thorough examination and awaited results. I was lucky depite a swollen and bruised left eye and forehead, a large soft lump on top of right side of head, a large swollen bruise covering the back of most of my right hand it was only the cracked right little toe that showed any damage on the xrays. All of the staff were superb - professional and empathetic despite the fact that the department was swamped wit the full range of health problems. Thank-you all for working cheerfully and efficientlyin such busy circumstances,”

“Tried the retreat restaurant for breakfast bit disappointed, compared to the old restaurant breakfast was very bland, and uninviting considering nearly ten pound for two small breakfast and two teas.
Staff friendly enough wouldn’t visit again Costa seems better value which has always been expensive.”
“Please can letters from Hospital include the department from which they are sent? This is basic information which is missing and should be a standard. Please involve patients in designing these letter templates. Please can age of people awaiting first appointments be considered, this can cause added stress and anxiety waiting. Thank you.”
