“I had to accompany my ex-partner to Endoscopy 27/06/26. He has adult ADHD, and Alzeimers....i was really worried because if not handled correctly he flies into a rage. I needn't off worried-from the initial appointment to book the colonoscopy through to the procedure, was brilliant. They catered for his problems and my precence wonderfully.....everyone we met and were dealt with were fantastic. At the initial meeting Gibson, had a calming, friendly but profesional influence over my friend, as did his colleague. Then on the day, we were met by Elizabeth.....such a wonderful nurse, who's open friendly smile totally relaxed myself and my male friend. Her easy going manner was just what was needed, all the time ballancing it with an air of profesionalism. In the theatre everyone was, friendly but totally profesional and explained clearly and patiently to my friend-what was about to happen. This unit is run precisely and very organised, all the staff were great-true profesionals. Which surprised me, as they are not in the best of enviorinments. Blazing hot weather and no air conditioner....the place was like an oven, but we didn't hear one word of complaint from the staff. Basildon Hospital has some of the best staff in Essex but the buildings are out-dated. I was totally imprwssed by the high level of care and my friend had his procedure without any tantrums or mishaps. Great team-thank you and well done.”
