“I ordered 3 blinds, all arrived as promised. One was faulty and when I requested a replacement, I was told it was my fault since I didn't tension the cord (rather than the chain). Their instructions state "Reposition your device over the new holes and again make sure the chain is taught". There was no mention in the instructions or their website which are unclear and insufficient to prevent catastrophic failure of their product.
They have refused to replace the blind.
Very poor customer service. AVOID”
“I would definitely not recommend Blinds4Uk.
We read all the information on the website before we measured for our vertical blind. We measured extremely carefully but it arrived 3cm too short.
The main issue was that written in red lettering on the website it says ‘We will make the blind size to the measurements specified by you on order, less any deductions as outlined on the product information tab.’
The product information tab said: Height Deductions : Minus10mm
So we measured with the understanding that just 1cm would be taken off. But no… 4cm was taken off!! Although it is not mentioned in the height deduction section, an additional 3cm is taken off for the depth of the headrail. (In fact, this isn’t mentioned anywhere at all.)
When ordering online you are wholly reliant on the information on the website being accurate, and when it isn’t, and you end up out of pocket for something that is not your fault, it is annoying and upsetting.
Anyway, our blinds were too short, and cannot be used. Some of the louvres were also damaged.
The company aftersales was completely useless. They said the blinds were made to our specifications, which seems to be the way they respond to a lot of customers with a grievance, even though the measuring information they provide is incorrect and misleading.
After advice from a friend who is a consumer rights lawyer, we rejected the item, but the company refuse to do anything at all about it. Like lots of other people who have given poor reviews, we are now following the line of a report to trading standards and applying to our credit card for reimbursement.
The only good thing about the whole debacle is that this was just one blind we were testing to see how it looked before ordering over £1500 more blinds for our large conservatory. We had a lucky escape!”
“Customer Service is poor !faulty blind and advise me of my terms and conditions gone past the 30 days spent a lot of money with this company and for the sake of replacing a faulty blind that was only small they have now got yet another unhappy customer.”
“A company with no costumer service at all. All they care is crabbing your money and their role stops there. Whatever problem you face after your money reach their account do not expect a resolution!
They are very good in finding useless excuses for any problem it may occur to your order but definitely not interested to offer a satisfactory solution!
FAR AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!”
“This company operates with non professional skills! I’ve ordered nine blinds which I discovered on delivery their cheap quality made! On two of my blinds for very tall windows they attached a very short operating chain, ( which I had to pay extra for the replacement of the cheap plastic ones) which makes it very difficult to reach. They were not prepared to offer a solution to this problem unless to charge additionally! Another blind was too small by 10cm. In other words this company does not offer any solution to any problem you face after the order once your money is grabbed!
DO NOT RELY A CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER YOUR DELIVERY TAKES PLACE! THEIR COMMITMENT STOPS THERE!!!
I’LL NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM EVER AGAIN!”
“Absolutely unacceptable customer service! Any problem you face with your order they’ll try to find an excuse for an answer, no concern in resolving any issue once your payment reach their end!
Quality of blinds on the cheap side! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY!!! NO SERVICE! NO QUALITY!”
“Do not order blinds from blinds4uk thinking you'll be saving yourself money and time. Before placing my order, I measured and re-measured my 2 windows countless times, to ensure I provided the correct measurements. I ordered 2 perfect fit black out blinds. They arrived flat packed, so you have to make them up (which is fine). 1 blind fitted perfectly, the other had been manufactured too big in height and the retailer and supplier refused to accept responsibility for their error. After countless phone calls and emails to get the supplier to admit their mistake and send me 2 height panels at the correct height (which wouldn't have cost them much), I was told "sorry, there is nothing we can do." So I had no choice but to bin the blind or take a hack-saw to both side panels (which I did) to make the blind fit. If the supplier had made an error on the width, I wouldn't have been able to cut it down in size. No customer expects to have to do the job of hack-sawing metal (which took ages) for a product they have paid good money for. I would advise you to buy your blinds from a company that values their customers better. Maybe when they have a lack of business, due to bad reviews, they may smarten their act up? You've been warned - buy from them at your own peril.”
“Wrong size blinds received, provided evidence that I was correct in my blind sizes with the invoice and the changed what I provided. Stated I was being done for FRAUD!!!! Requested the owner of the company calls me and never did! Now having to contact my bank to get a refund.”
“Ordered blind last week and they arrived today... Nicely packed and all bits complete. Very satisfied with product also installed easily...no problems at all.
Thank you for an excellent service.”
“The Ryanair of the blinds world i.e. if you can get your product ordered and be lucky enough to not require corrective action from their Customer Services you’ll be happy.
I should start by saying that we are very happy with our blinds, which do look great. The score provided however encompasses the fact that we encountered some significant issues with our order, unfortunately none of which Blinds4UK demonstrated any enthusiasm in resolving. My main advice to anyone purchasing is to probably order towards the smaller side of your measurements (even if following their measuring guide, which we did). There is a 5mm+/- tolerance on all blinds, which in our opinion is a fairly significant amount, certainly when you’re ordering for a 5 part bay window. Unfortunately the primary issue we experienced centred around the fact that 4/5 of the blinds we ordered were actually above the 5mm tolerance; one blind was in fact almost 1cm larger than we had ordered. After numerous hours we had managed to fit 4/5 blinds into place and thus suggested that as a prompt solution Blinds4uk simply replaced the final one, which simply wouldn't fit. We did also have an issue with the opening mechanism on the largest blind. All of this was firstly communicated verbally, following which we were asked to follow up with an email, which we did. The following day we received a response asking to send further images so to provide clearer evidence of the discrepancies, which we also did. It was somewhat frustrating to receive a response the following day stating that the blinds had all been correctly manufactured with which they used the one example that effectively measured correctly (based only on the +5mm tolerance). They failed to acknowledge any of the other incorrect measurements (which measured outside of the allowable tolerance), or mechanism issue.
We called Blinds4uk to discuss in further detail to which they gave us the following option:- we would need to take down all of the blinds, re-package them and have them uplifted by the manufacture for inspection. Only then would they agree to corrective action. I should also add that we were told if the blinds were proven to have been made correctly that we would have to absorb the cost of the collection and redelivery. Having already taken the time to clearly demonstrate the discrepancies, and also having a suspicion that the manufacturer would confirm the blinds had been made correctly regardless (based on the responses already received by this stage) we were not particularly confident this would guarantee a solution. Following this discussion we received a voicemail from Blinds4uk stating that they would send the images to their manufacturer for inspection before providing a further update, why this didn’t happen immediately will always confuse me. Unfortunately, however, we had to chase for a response 4 days later, and when we got a response it was simply a reiteration of what we had already been told. As such, we took it upon ourselves to manually adjust the blinds by cutting them down to size. They now fit and look great, it’s just a shame that we ended up having to take this course of action ourselves when the issue was clearly down to a supplier error which they just refused to take responsibility for. I should also mention that we managed to get the opening mechanism working well enough, although not fully.
In summary we would say that the blinds do look good and that if you are looking to cover just one window (and are therefore less likely to run into issues) this service is likely to do the job, and well. Just pray that you don’t have any issues because you’ll need the best of luck, a lot of time and patience to get it resolved.”
“Awful. I ordered conservatory venetian blinds and the finishing off was terrible. They were to go on a split door and the headrail had no casing on it, everything was on view and looked horrendous and ugly. Made a complaint to be told that their headrails are not covered up, but you cannot see this in the photos nor does it state it. Cannot return as made to measure and no help offered. Glad I only ordered the door to start with and not the whole room in one go. Save your money, go elsewhere. I went here because it was cheaper than the others. Good lesson learnt, if you go cheap you will end up paying twice and not being happy. Go to a more reputable company and pay that bit extra for a decent service and goods. STAY AWAY”
“Awful customer services. Blinds supplied incorrectly but would do nothing about it so ended up with 4 blinds that don't fit. Useless and rude. Would not give 1 star but have to give something and then threatened me if I put a bad review on about them!!!!!!!! Steer clea”
“Awful experience!
Having submitted my accurate measurements for a recess blind, they have sent me a blind that does not fit. They make a 4cm assumption for mechanism and brackets...however the manufacturer suggests 3.5cm and having measured it in real life, it's actually 3cm. So my blind is 1cm too short at its maximum!
I have written to Blinds4UK but they hide behind their principles and make no allowance for the contradiction with the manufacturer. They have not delivered the service contacted for and I must resort to small claims to get anything back.
So please, please shop elsewhere if you're looking for recess fitted blinds. There is not much you can do with a blind that's too small! The customer service here is poor and they are nothing but a distribution arm for the manufacturer, so will never have the margins to put right any errors. Shop elsewhere!”
“Blind too short for recess. Blinds4uk say it has been made correctly for the gap I gave them despite overall length of blind and bracket being 5mm too short. Won't explain how they came to that conclusion. They want £65 up front to have the blind 'tested' which wil be refunded IF the blind turns out to be faulty! They have stopped responding to my emails. Would give them 0 stats if I could. AVOID!”
