After a lot of time researching I booked a 2 night stay at a hotel in London for £151.00, however when I tried to use the voucher I was asked to pay an extra £317.00 for the dates I wanted (a Wednesday & Thursday night at the beginning of July). I queried this with Buy a Gift to be told it does state this in their terms & conditions. By going direct to the hotel I found if I became a member I could get it cheaper than Buy a gift, anyone can join and it’s free of charge. It would really help if when advertising prices they state what dates are included in the price, not hide it in their terms & conditions, it would have saved me a lot of time. They also stated they do not price match members prices. Be careful when booking if you require a certain date.

I upgraded to a deluxe room by paying an extra £30 and this information was not passed on to the hotel.

When trying to use our vouchers, the hotels wanted to charge us more for the stay and another hotel was not available but was on other hotel booking sites!! A rip off..

Unfortunately I'm still without my parcel that I paid the extra carriage for to get it quickly. The parcel initially got lost for which I understand happens from time to time and then I was advised I'd receive it 2 days ago and I'm still waiting!..Mistakes happen but my biggest gripe is the difficulty to try and get to speak to an actual person with webchat being the only option available to me. I ordered 2 presents that were both late. I was only then sent 1 digital voucher to get me out of trouble, because of this i had to go through the whole process of webchat twice. I hope the gift experience's that i will have to embarrassingly give late or if i ever get them at all, are better than Buyagift's service.

Absolutely disgusting…. My 17 yr old daughter dreamed of taking her dad to see a show in the theatre she couldn’t afford 6 tickets with good seats but she can across the tickets on this site. She brought 2 tickets x3 so we could all go and see a show together on the belief that we could choose seats available on the day however it didn’t mention that the only seats you get are the worse and cheapest seats possible the tickets for these seats could have been purchased cheaper directly through the theatre I will be raising a complain as my poor daughter had to work all week to earn the £150 it cost her A complete stitch up!

I ordered an email gift voucher and, almost a week later, it still hasn't arrived. I have emailed customer services, but got no reply. There is no customer service number as far I can see. The online chat service is only available weekdays, between 9am and 5pm,which is no use to anyone who works full time, and cannot wait around in a queue waiting to chat to someone. I am really disappointed.

I ordered the driving experience for my dad for father’s day. However, when trying to book the experience the codes do not work for half the websites. This is really disappointing.

Totally frustrated trying to contact this company, I have twice been in the middle of a webchat that goes offline, no phone numbers to contact them. Why do they think this is an acceptable form of customer service.

Bought a voucher and the next available booking is March next year! Shouldn’t be advertised if it’s that long before you can redeem!!

Terrible service money has been taken from my bank account and it will not let me book using voucher code/pin code - no contact number only online help which was of no help either! Contacted Anfield directly and they could not activate either - disgraceful

We book 2 e-tickets for london eye,but I didn't receive my e-tickets until after the scheduled time, which prevented me from boarding the London Eye. And now my voucher reference is no longer valid, and there's no refund, no way to complain, and I've lost more than 50 pounds. My voucher reference is 11853023-BUY24869801. how should i do now?

I cannot believe how difficult it is to get in touch with customer service. I have been in queues 70+ and even personal number 3 then I get took off line. It is impossible to sort out my problem. There are no contact telephone numbers that link you to an actual person! This is the worst customer service system ever. I have used Buyagift for many years, now I will reconsider where I buy my gifts from. It’s a disgusting service

Awful service. Impossible to make a booking for a spa break. Lots of hotels only accepting bookings Sunday - Thursday and the amount of options is very little. To go away for a one night break using our £140 voucher we’d need to travel over 4 hours each way just to find a hotel to stay on a Saturday. Haven’t been able to speak to a single representative over the phone about a refund and not had an email back online either. No refund available. Wouldn’t use again much better value for money booking a spa break directly.

I purchased this hoping to use it on a Sunday night at Lifehouse Spa. When I tried to book I t asked me to pay a further £230. When I queried it with Buy a Gift they told me that the voucher was just to get a discount and there were additional costs when booking they stay - but in this case, the voucher and the extra booking fee was basically the same price as just booking through the spa direct so no saving? I’ve looked at the offer page again and I still cannot find any mention that you will pay an additional fee to book (it references Fri-Saturday, again I was booking for a Sunday and it had an additional cost of £230 regardless of which day I was trying to book). Buy a Gift did refund me for the voucher as I chose not to use it. Very misleading and puts me off shopping with Buy a Gift again.

Easy to buy voucher for one night hotel break with dinner. Unfortunately impossible to book as very limited choice and no availability. Advertised as over a hundred to choose from but in fact very few in uk. Sadly will have to request a refund. Hopefully it won’t be too difficult.

We bought 5 spa vouchers for two people each so a group of 10 people could go on a pre wedding spa day- we are in our late 40s, 50s and 60s, teachers and health care professionals, so were looking forward to relaxing together after a difficult couple of years. However when we went to book we were told we couldn't book a group that big despite there being no information in the buyagift or spa literature stating this.

Absolutely awful, difficult to navigate the website but when we arrived at our hotel they wouldn’t honour the voucher.This was a gift bought by our daughter.Every time we try to spend the vouchers we have problems.This is the third time. I would never buy one of these as a gift gotanyone. It ids virtually impossible to get a response from their customer service dept on the phone

Bought 2 vouchers, each for 2 people and tried to book on the same date, at the same spa. When I was booking the first voucher, it said 15 slots available on the required date. The spa also confirmed it has availability as I was the only person with a booking, but buyagift won’t let me use both vouchers on the same date, at the same spa. Contacted their live chat, waited about an hour to be advised the 2nd voucher had been booked for me & then she told me that she’d checked it but mistakenly booked the wrong spa venue 4 hours away, she cut me off & emailed me to say she’s cancelled it, then explained there was no availability on the date in 7 months time, even though the spa could book me directly. No call back or offer of refund for voucher I can’t now use on the required date, my only resolution is to pay the spa directly to book it and waste more time with buyagift trying to get a refund of one of the vouchers.
