About Carphone Warehouse:

The Carphone Warehouse was founded in 1989 to bring mobile services to consumers. The market has always been complex and our aim from the very beginning has been to offer our customers simple, impartial advice while also offering outstanding value. As a result we have grown from a handful of stores operating exclusively in the UK selling mobile handsets and contracts, to a European-wide platform of over 1,500 stores in 10 countries, providing a wide range of mobile and residential telecoms services.

10 things I would change if I owned the Nophone-Wareouse. (Number 10 is mandatory) 1. Sack most of your staff, especially in your call centres because they sound like they are on ketamine... Seriously. 2. You sell phones... SO STOCK THEM!!! Argos do it just fine, along with a million other products but you can't seem to stock more than a few best sellers at one time. Signs of a hard time maybe? 3. If you do have to order phones to the store, how about making it a bit faster and actually informing your customers as to it's whereabouts apposed to false promises and ignoring the phone. 4. Sort your emails out! I made one order and was spammed with duplicate confirmation emails which became confusing at one point. Do not email me if I leave things in my basket... If I want it I will buy it, I don't see the staff in Tesco shouting at me half way through my weekly shopping. It's rude! 5. Remove paid for numbers to the local store. I blew 5pounds credit waiting 7 minutes for someone at the store to answer because your website tells me to do so as to avoid disappointment. They did not answer. I was still disappointed.... 6. Sort the website out because it is appalling! Missing info, dead links, hard to find chat service, the list the goes on... 7. Rethink the online chat service because unfortunately the chat staff can't actually do anything and through no fault of their own it seems. Give them a telephone maybe so they can talk to your other staff? Communication and all that important stuff.... 8. REALLY sort your click and collect out. I mean this is supposed to be easy but trust me, I seriously regret not going to Argos and I hate Argos. DO NOT charge me a pound to confirm my identity. There's no mention on this before purchasing so what right have you got to tell me I can't collect my item unless I lend you this pound! It's wrong, other click and collects don't do it so SORT IT OUT! Oh and I assume this wouldn't be needed if I got delivery with DPD so just another reason why your click and collect is the WORST!!! 9. Don't use DPD. Enough said. 10. Give this lad a job. I bought one phone (that I'm yet to receive) and have a list of issues and gripes. I dread to think what a more involved transaction such as a contract would result in. 869 1 Star reviews I guess and I expect the only 5 star reviews are people who were just happy with their phone and not with you.

Extremely poor customer service. My multiple requests to speak to a manger to escalte my query were fobbed off. A "computer says no" service with no common sense or logic applied. No easy way to complain - complaints phone number takes you through to customer services and there is no email address, only a postal address.

Took my old phone to Wantage branch due to it failing after getting wet last winter. Was told it was unrepairable (what do I know). Was told similar phones unavailable - I HAD to buy a complicated phone. Now know this not true. Was coerced into paying for an upgrade which costs me more each month. I don't need internet. I do have arthritic hands which cannot manage all the swiping and the silly buttons and tapping that dosn't work. All I wanted was a mobile phone with texting. I use both very little. Do need a gadget that my hands can operate. Just feel totally ripped off, badly advised by Carphone Warehouse staff - AND they kept my old phone. Now know that was wrong too. Would warn anyone to look for an alternative business other than Carphone Warehouse. Am now stuck with a gadget unsuitable for me. Just feel I was taken advantage of and scammed and robbed. All I want is to retain my long- term mobile number, and should be paying the absolute minimum for usage. Can anyone help or advise?

literal trash. forced to move house due to a bereavement. absolutely no signal, staff tried to say their network was fine, tried blaming my phone, the sim card, everything but the fact their service is trash. multiple times they have attempted to put a 250 pound cancellation fee. have heard nothing for 6 weeks, had to go to ombudsman

I would never again buy a phone from car phone warehouse as are only integrated in your money and locking you into a contract from day one. They went on about a 14 day return period but didn't inform me that this was only for lack of phone coverage, so when I tried to cancel my contract after a few days of starting it they told me they wouldn't cancel it and turned from being helpful to being very unkind and difficult.

The worst treatment from salespeople I have ever had:Rude, unpleasant, unprofessional. The price was the only reason I kept going back (3 times) to buy a phone. RIDICULOUS!!

After 8 months, my phone will not charge. CPW sent it to Team Knowhow for repairs. It comes back with a note to say Beyond Repair. The phone is in pristine condition and the Slough Store manager says that there must be a mistake and sends it back to team knowhow. After 18 days, the phone is ready to collect, still not working and now with a bend in it. Team knowhow won't repair it and asked for the store to email them to say that the phone had no bend when initially sent in. The store manager won't do it because he doesn't want to be investigated, as it says on his email to me. He wants Team knowhow to authorize a repair and Team knowhow wants the store to authorize the repair. In the meantime, it's been 25 days since I had my phone. The store manager suggested that i bin the phone and buy a new one!!! Don't buy from Carphone Warehouse, go to Amazon or John Lewis.

On Thursday I brought a sim free phone which I was told would be I will be store the next day and someone would ring me to collect. At 5pm the next day I went to the store and was told it had not be delivered and comeback tomorrow. Again the next day I went to be told is was missing, then the story changed to it being at the warehouse. After asking for a refund I was told I could not have one unti the phone is in store to scan. What a joke of a company. I had to go to 3 to get a phone as my normal one had to go for repair. CPW do not know customer service and I am still waiting for a refund.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Even though I asked repeatedly for them to stop calling me to offer me an upgrade I had already made (and they promised to take me off their system), they still continuously called me. It only ended when I blocked their number - they're probably still trying. The absolute worst pack of thugs.

I am fed up receiving calls from Carphone Warehouse purporting to be Vodafone.I found this out when I complained to Vodafone and informed me that Carphone Warehouse can offer Vodaphone products Whichever way they have my mobile number and e-mail address and I want to know how they have obtained this and if the process was GDPR compliant Needless to say trying to complain to Carphone Warehouse is as irritating and as difficult as trying to stop unsolicited and unwelcome phone calls It is about time the telephone ombudsman sorted this awful Company out

Attended at Car Phone Warehouse Harrogate and asked for a SIM card deal that would suit my 16 year old granddaughter, after discussing with staff was sold a SIM with a £30 limit, was assured that the £30 never be exceeded. The provider of the SIM was ID Mobile who surprisingly is part of the same group as CPWH. However have received several bills varying from £60,00 to £76,00. Went back to CPWH Harrogate and was basically ignored , have also been in contact with ID mobile who blame CPWH. Complaint still ongoing -please- please don't go to CPWH as they are con merchants and have no interest in you once they have your cash

Free gift scam - purchased a phone on the day the deal was released online...no gift received apparently stock did not last so why was the deal on for a further 3 days. its a ploy to make you buy, they make you wait 14 days for the 'free' non existent gift and once that 14 days passes there is no free gift and you CANT return the handset as the 14 day return period has gone. A SCAM, FRAUDULENT company!

Have 0843 numbers for their stores which charge premium rates which you get charged for even if they don’t answer and they never do! Lost £16 ringing them and never even spoke to them.

Disastrous repair service. Fine for purchase, but you'd better hope you don't need a repair. My phone is under 3 months old and developed a pretty catastrophic fault - severe overheating, rapidly drained battery and then wouldn't charge. An issue worrying enough that I was concerned that it would catch fire. CW absolutely will not replace it. They've taken it for "repair". It's been gone over a week now, and apparently undergoing diagnostics. The vague website says that repairs can take 28 days plus if the phone needs manufacturer repair or parts. Meanwhile, I think you're meant to use a phone box or something. Have contacted them multiple times to say I need a functioning and reliable phone for my NHS on call work, but they couldn't care less. Never again.

Worst customer experience I have suffered in 30 years. Phone not delivered and endless broken promises by useless and rude customer service “helpline” staff (they talk over you and put the phone down. Say they will do something but never ever do). Have now got the Police and trading standards involved. Only wish I had read other reviews before I used CW as I would have known to avoid in the first place, such is their appalling reputation.
