“School is incredibly unorganized and doesnt recognize official certificates from outside of itself, The CCA course is a convulated mess of online and in lab learning, there is lab requirements not mentioned until course has begun.”
“Extremely Disappointed — Students Deserve Better
My experience at CBBC Career College has been overwhelmingly negative, and I feel strongly that prospective students need to know the reality before enrolling.
From the start, there was a lack of transparency and honesty. The school markets itself very well, but once you're in, the reality does not match what was promised. Many students, including myself, were encouraged to join through peer referrals or incentives — but once we arrived, we realized we’d been misled. The quality of instruction, support, and structure is far below what any student deserves, especially for the over $19,000 in tuition fees we’re expected to pay.
Classes are delivered mostly through Zoom, where instructors lecture for 15 minutes and leave students to figure the rest out on their own. We spend hours sitting in front of computers, essentially self-teaching. Asking questions often feels discouraged. Personally, my instructor would ignore or dismiss me and treated me differently because I wasn’t a straight-A student. She would smile and engage with others, but when I spoke, her body language and tone clearly changed. It was humiliating and demoralizing.
Support for struggling students is nonexistent. There is no effort to meet with students after class, no tutoring, no plan to help anyone catch up. If you fail one module — even near the end of the program — you’re dismissed without a refund or opportunity to continue. Students dealing with personal challenges are not met with understanding or flexibility; instead, their situations are often used against them as grounds for dismissal. It feels like once the school gets your tuition, your wellbeing is no longer a concern.
The mental health toll is real. Many of us felt overwhelmed, stressed, and completely alone. We were bombarded with assignments and tests before even having time to learn the content. Imagine starting a new unit today and having a test the next day — that was normal. There was no time to actually absorb or understand what we were being taught. Students were constantly under pressure, and 95% of us felt unsupported, unsure, and emotionally drained.
There is no help with practicum placements — students are expected to do all the research themselves, even if they’re in a new province and unfamiliar with the local requirements. There's no guidance on licensing or career prep. The school simply says, “figure it out.” That is unacceptable, especially when people are making major life changes — moving across the country, finding housing on their own — just to attend.
The program structure is disorganized, and communication from staff is poor. Emails go unanswered. Important information is shared last-minute. Students are constantly left to figure things out in panic mode. For the money we’re paying, this level of disorganization is unacceptable.
Some course materials were even outdated or inconsistent with what is actually used in the field. We weren’t being properly prepared for real jobs — just pushed through modules at a rushed pace with minimal context.
The school offers no value for money. Paying nearly $20,000 for what amounts to self-directed learning on Zoom, with no student support, outdated content, no job assistance, and an unsupportive, even discriminatory environment — it’s beyond disappointing.
I sincerely hope this review encourages the school to rethink its priorities and truly put students first. We are not just tuition payments — we are people trying to improve our lives, and we deserve better. Until serious changes are made, I cannot recommend CBBC Career College to anyone.”
“I had an exceptional experience that stands out in my life. The staff was incredibly supportive, and everything was well organized. I hope they consider introducing the LPN program as well, as it would be a valuable addition. Their sense of responsibility is commendable.”
“I have had the most amazing and seamless support from the CBBC agency partner called Flourish. When I first made contact with Flourish, I was undecided between CBBC and another college for the continuing care assistant program. If I am being honest, I was leaning towards the other college. Flourish wasn't the first or the second CBBC agency partner I contacted, she was the third. The first 2 were rather unhelpful, appeared busy over the phone and were not attentive or giving me the attention I needed to better understand the application process. I decided to try one more person before giving up and that was when I came across Flourish's contact. I called her and she ended up spending over an hour with me on the phone the first time, explaining steps and requirements for the program with CBBC. That call completely changed my mind and I discontinued the process I had started with the other college and chose CBBC instead. Since then, Flourish has been super helpful and available to be contacted at any time with any question as it relates to the application process.
If I am being honest, Flourish is the reason why I chose CBBC. If I have one feedback to give to CBBC, I'd advise they carefully vet and choose their agency partners because the others(I withhold their names for privacy reasons) I contacted prior to Flourish, had quite a discouraging attitude, made themselves unapproachable and overall not available. I felt like I was bothering them when all I wanted was an explanation of the CBBC application process.
I will refer prospective students to CBBC however only if they go through Flourish as she is more likely to make the process seamless and stress free for them.”
“"I'm so impressed with my experience at CBBC College! The faculty and staff are top-notch, and the education I received has been invaluable. The campus is modern and well-equipped, and the students are all so friendly and motivated.
I especially appreciated the small class sizes, which allowed for personalized attention and mentorship from the instructors. The curriculum was challenging yet engaging, and I feel like I've gained the skills and confidence to succeed in my chosen field.
Overall, I would highly recommend CBBC College to anyone looking for a high-quality education in a supportive and inclusive environment. 5 stars, without a doubt!"”
“I'm a recent graduate of the Medical Laboratory Assistant program and was very pleased with my experience at CBBC Career College. The MLA program is difficult and not everyone in my class made it through, but the program truly prepared us for the national exam.”
“Very unorganized. Complaints go unnoticed. Going for class just to realize there was no instructor or your few hours were cut due to not having any learning materials. If I had of known I would of took another avenue. As far as I am concerned money is all its about. MOA completion and they are holding my " Diploma " due to outstanding balance. Graduation ceremony another joke..I would not recommend anyone to attend this learning establishment. Some of the instructors were the best but they can only do so much. So take your money somewheres else.”
“I would not recommend this college to anyone. They are so unorganized, you constantly are thrown with sub teachers who teach completely different and they are not adapting at all to what you are use to. The higher up people at the collage only care about themselves not us as students. I’m currently taking my CCA course through them I started in September and finished in April they’ve know changed our ORIGINAL contract and are making us all implement home care into our mentorship changing our original contract. They have not been understanding to the people with no license, no reliable vehicles, the price of gas taxis and bussing is left to us out of pocket. I can understand if we would have known signing a contract in September that this was part of it however it was not!!!
So unprofessional and unorganized. Don’t waste your time!!”
“Currently taking the Pharmacy Assistant course and I have never regretted anything more, this school has made me cry more then once because of the frustration and it isn't from the work being taught. This "school" is over priced cash grab save yourself the money and heartache. They are so unorganized we don't even know when we were supposed to start and when we change modules. I can't talk about the other courses but everything is "taught" off PowerPoints, yes POWERPOINT, and they teacher can't teach. The administration doesn't give two f's about any issues you have, trust me you'll have MULTIPLE issues/complaints, but they won't actually fix anything. They have had multiple complaints over the year I've been told by them but they still did jack squat. I am almost done this course and I have ZERO confidence in what I have been taught. They talk a good game but it's all hot air Just don't even bother with this place. Seriously save yourself the time, money and heartache.”
“I feel as if this education is a cash grab, waste of money. they make it seem like they're putting your needs/wants into consideration but they don't, it is so unprofessional and honestly the price of their education is not worth it. the campus director , ands almost all of the students and staff do not wear masks, they also don't require you to be vaccinated - so you're in an environment of unvaccinated maskless people! ive never felt like I wasted more money in my entire life. Please do not pick this school whatever you do.”
“Great Learning Institute. Currently a student of MLA. There tons of work to do here. You need to be psychologically prepared to undertake the program in this school. Great teachers who are well versed in their professions. I am excited to be here.”
