“I've been using my chicken water for a little over a week now and what a game changer! This is the definition of working smarter, not harder! Water stays cool, clean, and fresh! I would highly recommend this product!”
“I don’t know how I managed before Britetap!! I have a lot of flocks, mostly sorted by color, but also a lot of roosters and I try to keep at least 2 water sources in each coop, plus another source outside in summer. I have bought at least a dozen Britetaps, so far. I still have some cup waterers but they need to be cleaned a couple times/day and as soon as a bird bumps a cup, it drains up to 5 gallons onto the floor! I just got a smaller cooler, maybe 1.5 gallon and I can’t wait to try that with chicks! Anyone who’s ever raised chicks knows they constantly trash or drain their water sources even worse than adults! They will probably stand there and tap it to drain, but can’t drown in it and it would take a lot of tapping!! AWESOME product and REALLY AWESOME customer service!! Only one faulty tap (around the 9th one purchased over time - and they had a replacement to me in a few days plus return label!! Hint: if adult chickens can’t learn to use despite many different lessons & approaches, just tap a couple of times for chicks/juveniles and they will teach the adults!! (Good excuse for adding a couple of chicks, too!)”
Hi AnMarie. There are instructions in the manual. The key is to remove all other sources of water. Then show the chickens the valves by tapping on them with your finger to release some waterer. This will attract their attention. You may need to do this several times. The best time to try is in the morning right after they have eaten their dry pellets. They will be thirsty. Be patient and your chickens will learn to use the waterer. The valve technology is very well tested and we've sold tens of thousands of them. Your chickens will adapt.
“Love the concept. We wanted to be able to keep the chickens' water cold in the summer time here in Florida as it gets really hot. They have been drinking out of the normal waterer you get at the farm supply store for over a year. We put the Igloo and chicken waterer in the pen with the girls and they don't go to it much. It's a great idea, but we're still working on getting them to go to the Igloo over the regular waterer. We're hoping they will take to it soon as we like to keep the water clean and cold and this is perfect! Highly recommend.”
“This is my second purchase. I am so happy to have found these waterers. It took my 2 year old chicks about half a day to switch from cup waterers to these free flowing nipples. I have 11 new chicks so I'll be attaching this set to my new 5 gallon Igloo soon. One of THE very best purchases I've ever made for my chickens! Read the instructions and you’ll be very happy with these. Great product!!”
“Easy to install and work great in my 55 gal drum. Noticed a lot of water makes it to the floor so I will need to get a washing machine pan to catch it. Coop is a wood floor shed and don’t want to rot it out.”
“These waterers are extremely efficient. Chickens have no problem drinking from them year round. They attach to my igloo cooler easily.
I’ve been using them since they came on the market.”
“Your quality control is awful. I bought two of your chicken waterers at the same time--one from your Amazon store and one from ChickenWaterer.com. The one I bought directly from your website is what it was supposed to be (Model 2) and doesn't leak. The one I bought from Amazon was the wrong model and leaks like crazy. I had to return it. I won't be buying any more of these. It's easier to buy the food-grade buckets and nipples and make them myself. I made two chicken waterers this morning in less time than it took me to return the Amazon purchase from your store.”
“I like these. I have 5 in 5 different runs. I am having a problem getting all 50 chickens to use them and in the summer heat that is a problem. I love using them in the igloos so that the water is closed and the dirt and debris stays out and you can add ice to help keep the water cold. I’m looking forward to see if the water will stay warm in the winter. Truthfully I replaced one drinker on each one with a cup because I can’t afford to have a chicken not drink in this 111 degree heat and I’m happy that they are interchangeable. I also like the plug on the end so they are easy to clean.”
“I like this company. There was a question I had on replacing nipples with water cups. They gave an answer that helped me make the right decision. Our chickens took the the igloo ice water cooler right away. They are happy hens.
The price was good and the delivery was fast. Order with confidence.
Debbie”
“I really love the design and would have liked the option to have the little cup waterers. I still haven't managed to get the Igloo cooler into the chicken pen. I will give an updated review as soon as I can.”
“Converted a 5gal igloo cooler to use this waterer. Worked like a champ.
Also added the water cups, which are easy to install after removing the default water nipple.”
“I received my 4 pack of Freez Free nipple waterers promptly and installed them on my Tractor Supply 5-gallon bucket with ease, plugged it in and it works fantastic, temps down in the 20's and my chickens took to it right away.”
“I love the chicken waterer. Now my hens have clean water all the time. They would get mud and feathers in their old water container.
It’s easy to install . I used a 2 gallon Igloo cooler.”
