“Charger connection failed after using 5 times. They won't consider a claim without proof of purchase. I don't have the cc receipt. There are tons of reviews for this lamp that say this charger connection fails after a few uses. They should just trust the purchaser. CS says they didn't get a contact "form" from me but they are able to email me promotions so they obviously got that from my contact "form" complaint.”
“The company has no repairability. If anything fails in the lamp, the ONLY solution is to purchase an entire replacement lamp. If this were a $10 item, it would be one thing, but the replacement of my specific lamp is about $250. I liken it to having to purchase a new car because my car has a flat tire or a worn out battery. I spoke with the retailer that I bought from, and they have stopped carrying their line of products despite a very long corporate relationship because the Daylight Company has changed their marketing policies, and won't support customer care. This is written by a consumer who has owned several Daylight Lamps over many years. I first spoke with a representative on the phone...she couldn't get me off the line fast enough. Then I utilized email which received rapid, but unfulfilling results. As strong of an advocate for the company as I have been in the past, I will be equally strong in discouraging patronage in the future.”
“Shocking! The light when it worked was fine - however it failed just outside of warranty. On contacting the company I was shocked to discover that they do not offer a repair or investigation service - at all.
This is unacceptable in terms of sustainablity, it's not environmentally friendly and buyers should be aware that if a simple fault occurs an expensive lamp will have to be written-off.
Had I been aware of this I doubt I would have purchased the lamp in the first place.
This is not the way reputable manufacturers behave.”
“I was very disappointed with the returns of a light that was brought as a Christmas present. Yes it was over their very minimal 15 day allowance policy for returns but I explained about my husband working abroad - he didn't actually get to open it until after Christmas and then - due to other items he needed to take back - he couldn't take the light. Just because you can enforce this does not mean it is the right thing to do.”
