Took forever to ship with no updates. Not sure they are worth the extreme price either.

I finally received the stools that I ordered in April 2023. The stools are gorgeous, but for the price that they cost and the length of time that it took to get them, honestly I wish I had purchased elsewhere. I have seen stools dupes that look exactly like your product and for way less than half of your cost with much quicker turnaround. I would suggest that you find a way to speed up your process and also to lower the cost of your products, as 3+ months is a bit ridiculous. Even after the product shipped it still took over a week for the product to be delivered. For something made in the USA I expect faster service. These kinds of wait times are indicative of something purchased from Japan or Hong Kong.

Received both chairs quickly after ordering, they are very solid. One seems like it was used before?? The bottom protector pieces on the legs were scratched and there’s a chunk of wood missing on the top of the stool by the cutout. Not the best representation of a stool to receive when paying that much money .

I struggle to write this review. While I love the furniture, my rating is reflective of my frustrating experience. I ordered three Vail bar stools in sunflower leather on January 13th while they were backordered with an eleven-week lead time. I pined after these stools for the better part of a year, looking at every other retailer possible, however I could not find a more attractive stool. I bit the bullet on the purchase after studying the site and reading many reviews. I received the three stools on time on March 22nd as projected. Upon immediately unboxing them, I was enamored with the sunflower leather, which can only be described as divine. I then inspected each chair to take in all of the details: one was flawless, one had a puckering back strap and one had stitches already pulled loose from a strap holding the seat to the frame. While I might overlook such defects if I had spent less, I reached out to customer service to inquire about these imperfections. They were quick to reply, sending two new stools my way and facilitating the pick up of the defective pair by a local shipping company. I received the replacements on April 5th and, unfortunately, one arrived with unacceptable construction. The stitching within the channels was not straight from left to right, causing the entire seat to look slumped and unlike any of the tight, linear channels as shown across the Instagram page and website. I once again contacted customer service to inquire about construction inspection before shipment at Denver Modern as it was difficult to imagine the stools, made with such fine material and packaged so meticulously, could have such obvious flaws. Had to follow up twice as I was not responded to and was sent yet another stool. I received the next replacement on May 2nd and, after three separate shipments and six total chairs, I had my third perfect bar stool. I really do appreciate being sent replacement stools to get my perfect set as I am sure supply chain logistics and large item shipping are huge undertakings for a growing brand. However, being that this was a luxury purchase and from a company that is “obsessed with quality”, the amount of time I had to wait to receive three flawless chairs was extremely disappointing. Understandably, defects happen, however the Vail bar stools are most likely not inspected by someone having direct stakes at Denver Modern prior to shipment. I do hope this changes as I was very interested in additional DM pieces for my home, though I will wait until more reviews are available on those items.

I thought it was weird for this "carbon neutral" footprint you speak about you delivered all 4 of my stools in two orders - wasting gas, time and money.

Thank you for the feedback! We work really hard with our shipping providers to make sure your deliveries are made efficient as possible. Our carbon neutral program is design with a proprietary algorithm that estimates each unique order’s carbon footprint in real-time by looking at variables like shipping distance, package weight, and product type. All those variables are taken in consideration in determining the small fee at checkout to offset the carbon emissions from your delivery, even in the case that you had 2 separate deliveries. Hope this helps!

The chairs I bought look really nice, but require a lot of time to break in and be comfortable. Delivery wasn't great. Paid for white glove and had a large crate left in my driveway from FedEx Freight. Customer service gave me a small discount for the hassle, but was still a pain in the butt.
