“As someone who has owned a lot of different kinds of drones throughout my childhood, the DJI Mavic Mini 2 was by far the best. Flying drones has always been an interest to me and I have owned quite a few. For someone looking for a drone, the DJI Mavic Mini 2 is the way to go. This drone, made by DJI, features very easy controls, a decent battery life, and outstanding photo quality taken from a distance.
The first thing I noticed after using it was how simple the controls were. All you had to do was plug in your phone and you can see everything it sees in real time. Then, the actual controller had two joysticks: one for height and the other for distance. The front of it had a knob to adjust the camera, and two other buttons. These buttons can take a picture or start/stop a video. As opposed to other drones I have had, it was not touchy and was very steady while in the air. The live feed from the drone to your phone is very impressive too, which helps you see where you're going while flying from a distance.
Secondly, the DJI Mini 2 has a pretty solid battery life. When I fly the drone, I generally don’t use it for long periods of time. Most of the time, it is to capture a sunset or go over to a lake with geese. Given this, I rarely fly for more than 20 minutes, and in that case the battery is not a problem. However, once it gets below 40%, it starts to get laggy and not very responsive to the inputs I make on my controller. This doesn't happen often to me because I don't fly it for long periods of time, but if you think you would, this is a problem. Lastly, the drone comes with a charging plate that is magnetic and is protected by a plastic pod, which gives it a very unique and cool look. It also charges fairly quickly which is good for using it throughout the day. Overall, the battery life is not a problem unless you use it for an extended period of time.
Finally, the Mavic Mini 2 has good camera quality from far away, but close up is weak. The good thing about having a good camera from a distance is that most of the time you will be taking pictures of a sunset or a cool view. When this is the scenario, this drone is almost perfect, while you can adjust the knob to go left, right, up, and down in order to capture a very pleasant photo. However if you were planning on using it for close up pictures of deer, the quality of the photos close up has a pretty low resolution. For example, while taking a family picture while at a party we wanted to take a picture from a new, higher angle. At first the pictures looked alright, but after zooming in, it was slightly pixelated and blurry. Given this, if you are looking for sunset pictures, I highly recommend this drone. However if you would like close up pictures or portraits, a different drone would be a better fit.
The Mavic Mini 2 has a very good battery life, is extremely simple to control, and has decent photo quality depending on the view. I would recommend this drone if you want to see sunsets and other distant views, but not for close up photography. Overall I really enjoy this drone and I have no regrets buying it because of these qualities.”
