“I cannot believe that you have asked me to do this. The meat I ordered for Christmas was not acceptable. I notified you that there was so much thick white fat around the whole joint. It should have been for up to four people which didn't happen.”

Hello Anita, thank you for taking the time in leaving us a review. We are sorry that you are not happy about the fat cap on this joint. A heavier fat cap can be a characteristic of this cut, and the thickness can vary from animal to animal, especially with the heritage breeds and rearing techniques we use. As you will be aware each animal is totally free range with little or no human interference, as such they will lay down layers of fat in a totally natural way and each breed is different to the last with regards to the amount of fat they produce. As the fat gives this cut its incredible flavour our butchers do not trim the fat on these joints. “Firstly, I was so pleased to be able to order so close to the date of delivery, thank you for that. As it was so close to Christmas and deliveries have been a bit of a shambles there was a slight worry I may not receive in time but I was very reassured when I contacted the Farmison team. The meat, fillet beef for a beef Wellington on Christmas Day, was absolutely perfect. The whole family agreed it was my best to date and the beef was absolutely the reason why. It was completely melt in the mouth tender and delicious. I will definitely recommend Farmisons and will be returning very soon. Thank you”

“Well, I gave Farmisons a chance to reply to my query, but they didn't, so this is a review based on my experience. I spent £117 on a Christmas order. It turned up on time - good work there. I bought Cumberland Sausage, Winter Spice Brined Turkey Breast, Ripon Cathedral Half Horseshoe Gammon - Unsmoked, Traditional Pigs In Blankets & Traditional Sausagemeat Stuffing. Pigs in blankets were a bit salty, but ok. Sausagemeat stuffing was nice. Cumberland Sausage also nice. Turkey breast was decently flavoured with a hint of citrus, but was definitely on the salty side. No instructions telling me to soak it or anything, so cooked as per instructions on site. Gammon was almost inedible. It was soooooo salty, despite being soaked. I was really disappointed as I love a nice gammon and was looking forward to it. Lots of it was left over and eventually thrown away. Personally, I've had much better from the local supermarket, I'm sorry to say. I won't be ordering from Farmisons again.”

“Ordered a goose for Christmas lunch for delivery on the 23rd of December, arrived well packaged and fresh as a daisy. My son was chef for the day and it was cooked to perfection, the goose was absolutely delicious couldn't be happier”

“Delicious meat offerings with the very best wholesome products. The ranges available for one or more persons over the Christmas/New year ranges were superb. Fab and simple cooking I'd have said " destructions" because that usually is what happens to my cooking ha ha! but they were easy to follow from start to finish and love the fact British substainfully sourced products well done team, ordering again soon.”

“We were extremely disappointed with the presentation of the turkey this year as the feathers hadn't been completely removed & it was impossible for us to get them out. Plus one side had what appeared to be bruising under the skin. At a cost of £81 we expected a better finish. However the turkey was moist & tasty so although didn't look appealing it was edible. I'm not sure if we will be ordering from Farmison this Christmas. We haven't eaten the beef which we also ordered so fingers crossed that won't be as much of a let down as the turkey.”

“My order was the beef fore rib with bone marrow and parsley Although the flavour of the meat was fantastic it was extremely fatty , which meant that the ‘eye ‘ of the joint was in fact very small and was surrounded by layers of fatty meat I would re-order from Farmison but not this joint based on this experience”
