No idea what went wrong. Normally Farmison is top notch. But that frozen whole chicken was horrible. Arrived still frozen. Slowly defrosted in the fridge, cooked to my usual recipe from Simon Hopkins "Roast chicken and other stories". Not overcooked, actually, due to the size, still a bit red at the bones. Horrible, horrible chalky. Could barely eat it and try now to rescue it in a Thai curry. Have another one in the freezer and feel not very confident to roast it Freezer burn on your side? Defrosted and defrosted? That is not your usual standard.

NON PAYMENT OF REFUND To whom it may concern. Purchased Jacob’s ladder and it was mostly just fat. Emailed to request amendment to future order and the tone of reply made my husband dubious about the quality of service let alone their products. Requested refund inline with the terms and conditions of future order over £320 and still waiting for our refund. Buyers beware. Probably why they have not won online butcher of the year for a while. Please note it even states refunds difficult on their website reviews. Just wished we had spotted that before! You have been warned

Have had the most awful experience with Farmisons - they are almost impossible to communicate with . Their meat is truly excellent but no communication at all exists with the company which I think is inexcusable when running a company. I ordered a turkey and Christmas trimmings and a small rib of beef and had no confirmation at all - tried to call, got nowhere so ordered again - again got no confirmation and again could not get hold of anyone so I ordered from another company. A few days ago two turkeys and two lots of what I had ordered turned up and I again tried to contact Farmisons but got nowhere after hanging on to the phone for literally hours.

Hi, I made a mistake in the ordering process and looked to change the order immediately but there is no functionality on your website (that I could find) that allows a customer to do so. The options a customer has are to either email or call (both of which I did) but when you are placing an order online out of hours the order is processed before staff are able to intervene . I think it is incredibly unusual for a online customer of any business to have zero ability to change or cancel that order before an order is committed 100%. I appreciate that most if not all of your products are good to freeze but as a response to the issue it sort of misses the point and assumes that everyone has the ability to freeze which I don't. Unfortunately I'll have to reorder another joint for Christmas day at a significant additional cost to me. A great shame as the rest of the experience had been positive. I did speak to customer services who were friendly enough but didn't accept there was any sort of an issue and therefore were unable to provide a solution. Best Tom

Order placed for a delivery only to be told at 17:12 the day before the delivery was due that part of the order was now not available, no alternative offered as apparently they have run out of beef!

I've been buying Farmison’s Grass-Fed Mince Beef at Whole Foods, and almost every time there’re small pieces within the mince that look really off. The mince also always smell sour, like vinegar. You say this is UK’s best meat, are you joking?

I was gifted Vouchers for a special birthday by my niece last October, with a 1 year expiry date. I have been trying to spend them regularly since then. You follow the procedure but sadly no way of redeeming them. I contacted them by email but no luck with that. Very poor service and a rip off.

I note you are cutting down on the range of cuts offered. I wanted beef silverside last week and it has disappeared from your list. This week I wanted pork belly; that too is no longer on the list. I see you offer a rolled pork belly joint and pork belly slices. but I want meat with the bone in; it cooks better. Why have taken these cuts off your list?

The products were out with the courier company for 2 days. They arrived defrosted and one of the freezer pouches had burst, dissolving half the cardboard box with the products hanging out of the holes. Customer services response "We take great care in packing our boxes to ensure they stay cool and fresh during transit for up to 72 hours. While we label our parcels for same-day delivery, unforeseen delays can occasionally occur. As mentioned on our website, we do inform customers that frozen items may defrost during transit" So don't buy from Farmison for your freezer!

Been a customer of Farmison for many years and enjoyed many delicious orders from them, sadly after the takeover I feel their prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. The fennel and lemon chicken is almost inedible, fennel has a strong aniseed flavour which just isn’t balanced properly on this dish. Sadly I won’t be ordering any more products from Farmison and they need to raise their game in order to be a success in the saturated online butcher market.

Very disappointed that having taken my order, Farmison then proceeded to state they could not deliver to my home address on The Isle of Lewis, despite being part of the U.K. I have already requested that they (Farmison) remove me from their database, yet I still receive marketing emails and text messages.

Sous vide beef was purchased for todays bank holiday, cooked as per instructions, the meat was tough, could not slice it, this was poor quality meat, absolutely tasteless, most of it was put in the bin. I have been a customer for four years, so disappointed

Just cooked your sous vide beef roast according to the .instructions Not what I was expecting. My oven is state of the art. I am an experienced cook. Very disappointed and concerned that this is not high welfare meat. Not pleasant. Tough and tasteless.

I ordered 2 x 2kg Brisket for a planned family BBQ on Saturday. The order was made on Monday for delivery on Friday. I received an email at 5:30pm on Thursday advising that the scheduled delivery could only now be made on Saturday. This was no good, considering that smoking a brisket takes up to 12 hours so I had to cancel the order. Had I been advised of logistical/Supplier issues earlier, I might have been able to source the brisket from elsewhere, but instead, there will be no centerpiece for the family BBQ. The patronising email wishing me a good weekend and birthday was not well received either.

Real shame that this was a let down, I ordered a 2kg beef brisket from the smoker section, it had no fat cap and most of the centre was fat, they responded saying they would investigate and totally ignored me when I asked for a refund or partial if we kept it. I probably ended up with about 1kg of beef once cooked, not impressed for the money spent.
