“For the last two years, I have bought fresh meat products from Farmison which I have used to make something extra special for Christmas dinner. What I have bought has been perfectly and securely packaged, and has been a very big part of our celebratory dinner. I don’t buy much from Farmison but what I do buy is of exceptional quality. I have not written this review for any reason other than to help others make a good decision on how and perhaps where to but meat of excellent quality. If this review is picked at random for the meat box, I would ask that the meat be given to a good bank charity so that someone less fortunate can enjoy good quality produce. Many thanks”

“The 2.25kg porchetta joint for our Christmas meal was very good quality, tender and tasty - in the end - but there were no cooking instructions with the meat. The Farmison website gives a cooking time of 35 minutes per kg in "roasting the perfect porchetta" for a 2.5kg joint. We rarely eat red meat and I was not sure of the usual time, so I cooked it exactly according to these instructions, then tested it and found it was a bit pink but thought it would cook further while it was resting and while I steamed the veg, but when we carved it, it was raw in the middle. We had to cut it up and put the pieces back in the oven for another half an hour. Christmas dinner was delayed, the veg was soggy with the wait, and everyone was a bit cross. On checking other recipes the cooking time per kg is much more than 35mins. Farmison, you really need to check your website and also provide some written instructions with the meat you send. (And yes, my oven does reach the temperature it says, that was not the issue.)”

“This is the second year we have ordered our Christmas goose from Farmisons. The product is excellent and arrives well packed in an insulated box on the day requested. Good value too when compared with other suppliers. The instructions for preparation are useful. We were kept informed about when our delivery would happen and it arrived within the slot given. Altogether a very positive experience.”

“A swift delivery of some delicious meat! The turkey ballotine was a dream to cook and tasted splendid. The pigs in blankets were also very tasty. Both were prepared with citrus and prunes which added a lovely extra dimension. Size-wise there was enough for two of us over three meals!”

“We like a goose at Christmas but for three people, even a small one is too large. Farmison provided the answer, an 800g pack of two goose legs was more than enough for us and was very tasty. We also enjoyed a small York duck on New Year's Eve. This company has excellent products and top-class customer service to match.”

“I ordered from Farmison's because my local butcher (in Glasgow) didn't have any ducks for Christmas due to the avian flu shortages. Farmison's had everything I needed - I ordered sausages too. The website was easy to use, I booked the delivery in advance and it came right on time, with DPD.”
