“Foxtons are complete crooks and liars.
They have lied to the courts and made defamatory statement denying all claims of their staff giving false information.
I am writing this review to alert others and be very wary of this company as they are not only capable of lying to customers they will lie to the courts to protect themselves.
I will now be a witness in court for my family member as 5,000 reservation was kept by yourselves and now your are telling lies which is slander. I would like to inform you I was st the ballymore show room office in canary wharf behind pan peninsula when you was selling Wardian property and I was a witness and accompanied my family member. I have seen spoken to Christine and read all the text messages and heard the voice recordings saved from yourselves. You can't lie that is slanderous Espically when I have seen and listened to all the evidence. What these people have put my family member through is disgusting and I will be in court to testify as a witness as its not only me who has heard and witnessed your unprofessional misconduct of your company lying. Our whole family and friends have witnessed everything. And to now lie to the courts and say your employer didn't say what she did is outrageous and I hope the judge hits you with hard penalties.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS ESTATE AGENCY AS THEY ARE ENABLING AND FIRST POINT OF SALE WORKING ON BEHALF OF THESE CROOKED CONTRUCTION COMPANIES LIKE BALLYMORE TO GET AWAY WITH STEALING MILLIONS FROM WORKING CLASS PEOPLE.
FOXTONS EVEN DENIED KNOWING WHO THEIR ESTATE AGENT WAS INITALLY.
AND THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS.”
“I have had the worst experience possible with their St Johns wood agent Sarah McGuinness. Sarah initially reached out to me and invited me to go view a few properties with her.
I eventually showed an interest in one of the properties which I extremely regretted going for. Despite the property being lower than my standard, I fell in love with the neighbourhood as well as the false promises Sarah made to me repeatedly.
The false promises she made included but not limited to how the property is under refurbishment and that my entire flat will be cleaned, made cleared of mould and re painted prior to my move in date. The false promises mentioned were made AT LEAST 3 TIMES with full confidence during viewing and Sarah made sure that all of them were done verbally and that there is no written statement from her as proof.
What happened on my move in date could not be further from the lies Sarah passionately told me during viewing as you can clearly see from the photos. When I visited for the viewing there were some mould problems but nothing nearly as bad as what I witnessed on my move in date.
I called Sarah to complaint about the situation and that there were even insects inside the flat which I remember her respond being “Ewww Eww” and “unfortunately I’m busy showing other clients properties right now” and simply ignored my messages after.
I still remember vividly one of the things Sarah said to get me to put down the deposit which was “I’d never let any of my clients move into a property looking like this”. Little did I know that the state of the property I will be moving into would be worse than what I saw at viewing.
During an entire year of my tenancy, there were endless problems with the property and I’ve never heard any apologies from anyone from the St John’s wood branch and felt like this needs to be said.”
“AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! IF YOU CAN LET THE PROPERTY THROUGH ANY OTHER LETTING AGENCY, PLEASE DO SO, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
I have had the worst letting experience of my life, in such inhabitable appalling conditions with Foxtons. I am not sure if it is just this branch in particular that are unprofessional, unethical and clearly just not bothered or the company culture in general!
The only time I have received communication from this branch was 1. The sales team when they were trying to let this property, and 2. again the sales team, to book in viewings as the landlord wanted to sell the property even though I still had another year remaining in the letting contract!
Be prepared to be on hold for hours! (I am not joking!) and to be ignored by phone and email for serious maintenance issues. They will blame the landlord and contractors, to pass the responsibility.
The maintenance team are appalling.
I have had maintenance issues outstanding since the 8th of February 2021! That I can still not get a clear answer on whether they can fix them or what the plan is to resolve them.
My Maintenance issues:
1. Blown Sockets
2. Window handle is rotten and broken
3. Mould
4. Blocked Sink
5.Toilet that does not flush properly
6. Toilet loose from the floor
7. Kitchen tap replaced shoddily breaking the kitchen counter that began to rot
8. Washing machine not working
9. Oven not working
In the last month of my tenancy, Foxtons sent over Contractors who were to do remedial works in the bathroom and kitchen, which were actually heavy works and I was left without water completely, a non functioning bathroom and kitchen without consultation.
I also received electric shocks from the switches, now that I have left I have been sent EICR which had the grading unsatisfactory for overall assessment in terms of its suitability for continued use, grading C1 & C2.
I am so happy that my tenancy is over. I will NEVER again rent through Foxtons.
I have now let through STIRLING ACKROYD, and I can see why they won the Regional: London Agency of the Year 2022 (Gold)”
“After viewing a six-bed property in 2019 with seven others (two couples and three singles), my prospective housemates and I were assured that it was legal to occupy the house in an eight person tenancy.
We then faced a hellish four months in communication with a very unreasonable Property Manager. Foxtons had assured us that bedroom furniture could all be removed on request. This turned out to not be the case. In total, my (incredibly over-furnished) 3mx4m box room had a 6ft wardrobe, chest, three bedside tables, double bed and a large chest or drawers. I could barely move inside of it, and the Property Manager refused to remove anything. After contacting Foxtons, they did nothing.
The house’s repeated power shortages were then finally linked to the fact that the first floor attic (that we were told we didn't have access to) was storing so much that items were actually pressing against the wiring for the LED ceiling lights. Instead of apologising for this major fire hazard, after a meeting with the Property Manager (who we have written evidence proving he was aware there were eight of us living there) we were told that someone needed to vacate the property by 'the end of the month', as legally the house could only hold seven.
Foxtons did nothing to support us throughout this emergency eviction situation, although they were the ones that assured us the house could legally hold eight. Unfortunately, the UK COVID-19 lockdown hit just as we were leaving (after these events, five of us decided to leave in order to get as far as possible from Foxtons). Lockdown obviously slowed the moving process, but to say Foxtons was useless throughout is an understatement.
Two of my current housemates ended up paying for their new and old bedroom for a total of four months, after their replacement had to pull out. Several viewers over lockdown were interested, but after Foxton’s complete lack of urgency and organisation, they were hesitant to sign and ended up pulling out.
- We have written evidence from three separate couples stating that is was Foxton’s handling of the property/contract that made them back away from signing for the room -
After the room was finally filled, it took Foxtons a further month to finalise our contract. I moved out in Feb 2020, and received my deposit in December. The agency were unbelievable. After losing a contract, they requested a photo of it instead. After submitting one, they took two weeks to respond, only to request another as the photo wasn’t clear enough. After re-submitting, it took them another week to respond.
Typically, unless I emailed every day and phoned, I never received a response. It was the same for every current and ex-tenant.
I’m absolutely appalled by Foxtons. This complaint barely scratches the surface at their incompetence, unprofessionalism and general lack of care. I strongly advise anyone currently house hunting to avoid this company at all costs.”
“"Beware guys, of theses guys whenever a company pay for fake reviews" it's a hugely popular activity and problem with these companies, in this case Foxtons, I have watched them for very long time, in the trustpilot reviews, 80 percent of reviews there are paid for and or fake, if anyone who understand the reviews system, can check in Google, the company "foxtons head office", and you can see the image they have, that's exactly what it is just an image, and the funny thing is, even they know that the fake reviews are a form of misleading information and let's face it dishonest. If you need to encourage clients with fake reviews what does that day about the company and the real service they offer. They could be faking reviews every 20 minutes in trustpilot,as a citizen its my duty to report any such fraudulent action too action fraud police and Serious Fraud Office (SFO) in the UK,and of course to inform citizens and people who maybe thinking to trust these guy's from fake reviews with your own opinion, "in your own review / reviews" .What a pity these guy's couldn't be more like the sheepard and less like the Fox. "Or tons of Foxes"”
