“Really good service however, there was some confusion as to which papers you guys were requesting to process the claim. This was time consuming for me as i had to make several phone calls to understand what was actually needed.”

“So many competing pet insurers to choose from. Furkin is among the most clear about what they insure and what they do not. They didn't flood my email with vague adverspeak to sign up - like several other insurers. Overall Furkin has the best coverage and deductable for my 10 month old healthy Belgian Malinois Shepard mix. In the recent past, my ex-wife and I had insured a different dog with Furkin. We made several claims over 1 1/2 years that Furkin paid out. That experience was positive. Losing my wife and the dog, not so much.”

“I recently enrolled and had to call to change my address, for some reason the wrong province was featured, the client service advisor was very nice to deal with and changed my address with no issues”

“Seems to be good coverage....only had it a few weeks. Customer service is good and knowledgeable. The only thing I don't like is they don't underwrite the policy until you make your first claim which can leave uncertainty as to what is not going to be covered.”

“I have only just signed up with Furkin, so I really don't have anything to say about the company or about their insurance. Once I have received my policy and I begin to work with them, I can certainly say more. The sign-up process was all done online and was super easy. If this were to rate the sign-up process alone, I would give a 5. Just don't wish to commit to a 5 for everything when I haven't done anything but sign up!”

“The registration process was straight forward and easy. Read the policy closely and cost and coverage seem excellent. Only concern relative to other providers is what is called "associated conditions" when it comes to pre-existing conditions that won't be covered. Depending how "associated conditions" are interpreted when making a claim, this could prove problematic if interpreted very broadly. Time will tell.”

Our Care Team is always happy to jump at any questions a pet owner may have about our Furkin coverage, but we’d love to take a moment here to help clarify. Our goal is to always be transparent so that members have the best experience possible with their Furkin Pet Insurance Policy throughout their lifetime with us 💜 We, like most other pet insurance providers, do not cover associated conditions, and we aim to give examples to pet parents on how pre-existing conditions impact coverage. Associated conditions, in short, are any medical condition or complication arising from another primary condition. For example, a pet parent may know their dog has allergies as a pre-existing condition due to a prior vet visit with an infected paw from chewing, but not realize that allergies can have other symptoms such as ear infections which are almost always caused by allergies. If allergies were a pre-existing (and therefore ineligible) condition, a future ear infection may therefore also be ineligible. In some cases, the exam notes from your veterinarian will help discern the relation. We hope this helps clarify associated conditions, but if you ever have any questions about whether or not a claim will be eligible for your pet, please email or give our Care Team a call.
