“I read the reviews and am worried about working with this company. I haven't given them a deposit yet and now wonder if I should. I have emailed the guy that gave me the quote and signed paperwork for rent to own. Very skeptical now.”

“I NEVER leave online reviews, but I just had to for these guys. Called in and spoke with Alex a several days ago. After going over my design on the phone, he said he’d have a quote (and computer images) emailed to me within in 10 minutes. I thought wow, that’s impressive. Hours later, nothing. Checked spam folder, just in case … nothing there either. Called again the next day, the operator recognized me, calling me by my name. Felt kinda weird. She routed me to Alex’s extension, which clicked over to his voicemail. Left a message, still nothing by the following day …. crickets. So much for their commitment to excellence. All I can say is they must not need the money. Good luck to anyone that gets in bed with an outfit like this.”

“I recently purchased a garage/metal building from Garage Builders and the manufacturer, Carolina Carports. I am so disappointed with the experience. I have two main issues with dealing with Garage Builders during this process. The first issue was my sales rep, Henry Taborda, failed to be upfront about the delivery process. He made it seem like the scheduling department would call me right away to schedule the delivery. After complaining for several days/weeks in a row, receiving the same information, and trying to contact the scheduling department myself, I finally read the contract that they have up to 120 days to deliver the building and are only required to contact you 24 hours before delivery. There is also a Winter Weather clause that states orders placed after the last day of September are not subject to the 120 delivery day. None of this information was shared with me by my sales rep, Henry Tabord. The second issue is I repeatedly requested color samples. I asked on four different occasions to have actual color samples sent to me. My rep, Henry Taborda, would only send me a color chart. I continuous expressed to him that using a color chart printed from my printer was not a true representation of the colors. He offered no solution. Well my building was delivered and the color does not match my house. After speaking to the manufacturer, Carolina Carports, about the awful color they asked me why I didn't request color samples. I told them I did through my sales rep, Henry Taborda, and he told me all he had was a color chart. They told me they have no problem sending color samples to anyone if the sales rep sends them a request and there was no record of a request made on my behalf. After going back to my sales rep, Henry Taborda, about this issue, he said the manufacturer was lying to me and he did ask for samples. In all my email exchanges he never once mentioned color samples being available or requested. He continuously told me he only had a color chart. So now Garage Builders refuses to accept any responsibility and want me to pay the entire cost to re-skin my garage building. Do yourself a favor and choose another seller. They are not at all concerned about customers being 100% satisfied as they claim on their webpage. Regardless of who you purchase your building through ask upfront for information related to the delivery clause, warranty clause, and color samples. If you don't get any of this information immediately end all communication and find another seller.”

“I paid garagebuildings $7400. Deposit for metal building, 6 weeks ago, including an change order. They are brokers for Complex Steel, and this is their "fee." The original quote could not be built, as it was an 18' Height building, and their engr., could not give me the calcs, for a 2nd floor, and neither, could I find a structural engineer. Henry Tabora promised I would hear from engineering the following week. No calls. At the end, I emailed his boss, Lori Malone. No reply. Complex, engineering took $2300., For engineering, and promised I would go to engineering 2 weeks ago. They lied to me again, because I had asked for a refund. They refuse to refund my money. They steal your money, and then run you around in circles. I see by their 35% approval here, that this is their business model.”

“I ordered my building, and paid my deposit on 12/1/21. It's 1/11/22 and I have not been contacted. When I call, they say they will check and get back to me....they NEVER DO. I was told 2 to 4 weeks. It's now 6 weeks and NO INSTALL DATE. Not even a call back. Carolina Carports is the supplier/installer and you cannot get through to them either. 2 of the most useless companies I have ever dealt with. Never again, and I will tell all of my friends not to do business with them either. They were waiting to see how I would be treated and now we know....”

“Scam Alert! Total POS company. DO NOT USE THIS CRAPPY COMPANY! I ordered a building and was promised larger door, color, windows etc. on a later date. Once I made the deposit of almost 3000.00 dollars, the company stopped helping me. I was then contacted/ harassed by another company, American Carport, which would actually build and ship the structure. I was never told another company was building, shipping and constructing the building. American carport demanded money for upgraded plans. These fine details were never stated. I then tried again to make changes to my plans as agreed, but no such help to place. Garage building.com is just a middle man and has to send and receive emails to make any changes. So once your order is in, no matter what no changes can be made without extra money. I was not happy and wished to get my deposit back. Once I requested this, the company would never answer the phone. I left two to three messages a day and never got a return call. I finally contacted my lawyer, the credit card company and filled a fraud charge against them. I just hope I get my deposit back. Total POS Company, Do NOT Use them. There are many other companies that are easier to work with and are not middle man, lying POS workers who's only goal is a sale and deposit. "F"ing total rip off company. Scam Alert.”

“Still waiting on a garage delivery. We were told it would be before November but we only have 2 weeks left in October. Has anyone actually received a building? These reviews are scary as we also paid deposit and poured a concrete slab thats sitting empty waiting on a building that apparently doesn't exist. Keep getting passed on to other people and not sure what to believe at this point. Would love to give a positive review to help them redeem themselves. But can't do that if we are experiencing same issues as everyone else on here. Can anyone post photos of building that you've received? Will post update if building is in by time promised.”

“We ordered a building in February 2021 and paid a deposit. We still do not have a delivery date scheduled. I understand that there are pandemic-related delays, but feel that we have given them sufficient time to deliver the building. Very dissatisfied.”

“If I could give -10 I would. Worst company ever. Was told you have to lay concrete and once you do the building will come no later than 12 weeks. What a joke. My husband needs the building for work and these idiots are a huge scam. No building….. They should not be in business if they cannot deliver.”

“Called after doing some research on their website and the lady was very rude and didnt seem to have any idea/care in the world about helping me. Just tried to get a quote and she said the website is not up to date and she couldnt help. MOVING ON TO THE NEXT”

“Paid deposit in February 2021 Called “ delivery coordinator” no less then 3 times. No response. Why is there no communication it’s July , 5 months since I placed and paid the deposit for my order? Reporting to BBB because at the moment this is just a internet scam to collect bogus “ deposits “ on buildings that never appear.”

“Terrible customer service. Provided us a quote that we worked into the financing on our home building project. Called us on a Friday to let us know pricing was going up and we had to pay in full by Monday. Our builder called Monday to pay in full and they wouldn’t accept the payment, then saying it had to be paid that morning and the offer was now expired. Nothing but liars and misinformation. If you are looking for a garage - take your business elsewhere. Definitely would not recommend these folks.”

“We paid our deposit on July 24, 2020 and still no garage. When we bought the garage we were told about 4 weeks, though the contract says 12. 12 weeks ok I can live with that. We were ready for the garage August 15 with the slap and electric dirt work done. No garage, Multiple calls to the company, no return calls or we were told the girl who handles that is out sick. Really? Every time??? September come, no building, October comes no building. Called and Called then we were told oh we asked someone else to do the building. Ok 3 weeks later they come and guess what they did not have all the building with them, so no building. Then told 2 week more since they cut the metal wrong, that was 4 week ago, now we are told 2 week again. My electrician is about to lose his mind he has been rescheduled 4 times. I would not recommend this place at all. It is Nov 6, 2020 and no building and we are told 2 weeks. Also the garage doors we ordered were not the ones they wanted had on their order, they had roll up we wanted real garage doors, not storage building doors, so now we have to do that part ourselves, which was not the original order. Same for the walk through door, the door the new company wanted to put in looks like a trailer door. So fed up with this and DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Biggest mistake we made. I could have built it myself by now out of wood. I would give 0 stars if I could.”

“Customer service, I could not be more disappointed. They were fine during the ordering process. After my deposit was paid I never heard from them again. I understood that the deposit was non-refundable but what was not made clear during the sales process was the delay in construction of up to 120 days. This came to light after the deposit was made. Combine the terrible customer service with the non-refundable deposit and massive delay I would discourage any potential buyer from using this company. Buy local in your own community. If the option for zero stars was an available that’s is what I would give them”

“I inquired about a carport last year(2019) for my home in Pa. I got a quote from Andy for the one I wanted.My town required a permit to have one erected on my driveway.Town wanted contractor info and insurance info on Garagebuldings.Andy told me they needed a deposit to give out that information.(?) I put down a deposit of $380 for that info.My town rejected my application for a permit to build a carport on my property.Now I have been contacting Andy for months trying to get my deposit back.Getting no reply on this matter. No services were rendered other than taking the order.When can I expect my deposit back? Or at least a reply to my emails.”
