"I bought this item to supply 230VAC power to a submersible pump during power outages. It will also fulfil other uses, i.e. 12VDC and USB. I am very happy with the quality, ease of use, how quiet it is and the price. I have purchased a special outlet plug to get around the problem of the 230V being one above the other and clashing if you are using both outlets (it being originally designed for continental outlets). I would recommend this item for others to purchase, but ensure that it meets your electrical power requirements."

"This diesel generator (3000 RPM) is solidly built! Ours came already tested, fitter with filters, and filled with oil. That was a nice surprise so the supplies I bought for the purpose can go to the first oil change at 20 hours.\r\n\r\nThe unit IS heavy but not impossible to move by yourself with some care. The wheels don't swivel, so you'll have to lift one end if you want to turn. Definitely recommend you have a strong helper to move it from the shipping pallet and unbox.\r\n\r\nThe unit is billed as quiet, but at 96 db that's relative. Relative to a jackhammer perhaps. They say at 7 meters it's comparable to a riding lawnmower. Probably not far off if you have a large ride-on.\r\n\r\nThe kit comes with a bag of parts build your own plugs. You have a caravan-style plug to connect to 230v, and a couple for building 120v plugs, one at 16 amps and one at 32 amps. You'll find one socket for each standard on the front of your generator.\r\n\r\nI tested my 120v\/15-amp table saw (an older Bosch 10-inch\/250mm work site model) on the 16 amp output. The diesel generator never sounded like the engine was ever under load, though I did manage to pop the 16 amp breaker once when I cut a particularly thick piece of wood.\r\n\r\nOur contact at Generators Direct, Sam, was so helpful with questions when I set it up! Ask about the trick for changing the oil without pouring it all through the unit. The drain plug is at the very bottom of the engine, of course, so it's right above the bottom of the steel case. No space for popping a drain pan in there. Sam's the best - and he gave us the best price available, too!"

"Never having owned a generator before, I was looking for one that was quiet and portable. The mighty Atom seemed to tick those boxes and although I could have purchased a cheaper one, this one seemed to stand out for me. It came with a bottle of oil, which it used the whole bottle to fill it up. My only complaint is that I was pouring in a drop at a time, not knowing it would just take the whole bottle. There are 2 standard 3 pin sockets, so you can plug your usual household gadgets in. It also comes with a set of leads to charge a battery and a plug inUSB socket (which fits into the cigarette lighter socket) for charging phones etc. \r\nI put the petrol in (purchased separately) and followed the easy instructions. I started it up, first time and ran it for a couple of minutes, then switched it off. My partner appeared asking if I was going to start it? Which proves it was quiet as she hadn't heard it. Obviously when under load the noise levels increase but nothing drastic.\r\nOn the box, it says it is capable of running 4 lights, a laptop, a refrigerator, a router or modem, a cooling fan, a TV and a microwave all at the same time, \r\nor individually; security system, a computer, a dishwasher, a furnace blower, appliances such as a kettle, a TV\/DVD or sump pump \r\nI would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a decent quiet portable Generator. Definitely is good piece of equipment "

The replacement tap arrived on Thursday afternoon and by Friday morning the generator was up and running again. Replacement tap provided on the warranty with no hassle.
