“Awful company, both in terms of customer service and quality. As to quality, we received numerous meals that were unsealed and had leaked food in the shipping container. Other meals had poor quality and cut of meat, no seasoning/taste, and small portion sizes. The meals look nothing like the photos and ads you see online. Now, customer service is what brought this down to a 1 star review. The company never responded to any of our emails advising of the above issues. When we left comments on Instagram asking them to address the issues, they repeatedly deleted the comments. This even happened today on the date of this review. It’s one thing giving grace to a new, expanding business. It’s another thing when that business is actively taking the approach to hide and ignore legitimate feedback and concerns. It’s clear having an honest, ethical business is not part of your ethos. Sadly typical of a desi owned businesses. Overall, I would not recommend this company given how expensive it is. You’re better off buying from a halal restaurant if you have them near you or making your own food at home.”

“I was a previous COOKT customer, prior to relaunch I was very happy with the service & product, and resumed ordering after the relaunch, but this experience has been very disappointing. The meals now arrive frozen and, even after reheating, are watery, mushy, and lacking flavor. Marketing these as “fresh” feels misleading, especially when customers are instructed to freeze unused meals. The claim of a Michelin-star chef also feels inconsistent with the current quality. The new delivery schedule is another major issue - midweek deliveries defeat the purpose of having meals ready for the work week and make planning difficult. While the meals are halal and convenient, the use of canola oil and overall decline in quality are disappointing for customers seeking truly healthy options.”

“I’ve tried several meal delivery services, but Cookt is on another level. The fact that it’s 100% halal and gourmet-quality makes it a total game-changer. You can really tell the chefs have a fine-dining background—the flavors are complex and far from your "standard" bland meal prep”

“Absolute disappointment. First time customer ordered food December 27 checking with FedEx delivery date January 2. On the website, they claim 2 days delivery to New York. Just imagine your food is in transit for that many days.”

“The good are blend and look old. The chicken in the spaghetti Puttanesca smell nasty, like row chicken and row tomatoes. The Korean bulgogi was dry and no taste no salt same for the Vietnamese bang mi. It a disaster, out of 8 meal tried this 3 and te regret so much to have fall for they advertisement.”

“I’ve tried several meal prep services in the past, but Cookt is in a league of its own. The fact that it’s gourmet Halal food, designed by Michelin-trained chefs, really shows in the quality. The flavors are vibrant and don't taste 'mass-produced' at all, it literally feels like a home-cooked meal but with a high-end restaurant twist. The packaging is neat, it reheats perfectly, and it has saved me hours of grocery shopping and cooking every week. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to eat healthy without compromising on taste!”

“Subscribed to this service based on the owners story, and what was being promised. The whole company is run on false advertisement, and promises. Compare any meal you receive with the pictures on their website. The ingredients used are sub par, the cooking is at best below average, no flavor whatsoever so ever, they should be held accountable for using “gourmet” even as a word while advertising. Thoroughly disappointed.”

“Incredible variety and great portions What I love most about Cookt is the sheer number of options. You can actually filter by chef, which is a cool touch. The ingredients always taste fresh, and the portions are surprisingly filling, I’m usually a big eater and I’m always satisfied. It’s been a lifesaver for my fitness goals because the macros are clearly labeled on every tray. The Mediterranean bowls are a 10/10”

“I purchased as a hopeful customer, but would absolutely not recommend this company for the following reasons: 1. From the 8 items I purchased 4 meals were not sealed. This means that the meals had freezer burn, because now Cookt is freeze blasting the meals. Initially they claimed they were fresh never frozen, but we received frozen meals that were not sealed. 2. The first two meals, Korean Bulgoghi and Chicken Chipotle were so disgusting, my family threw up. We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat the rest 3. They claim to be halal certified, but are not. Muslim consumers appreciate honestly and transparency. 4. They claim to give back to the community but do not show where or how. The fact that the packaging is not sealed is a major food safety issue!”

“The spice and garlic are so extreme, I had horrible acid reflux and threw up. I thought western dishes meant not spicy food, but instead they’ve put South Asian-levels of pepper and chilis in everything. I feel like I have to throw away the whole order.”

“Terrible. It’s a scam The food had no taste at all, and it felt like you just tossed in a couple of thin, raw slivers of meat under the name of ‘halal.’ I couldn’t even chew them—they were completely uncooked. No one should buy this food.”

“I’ve been ordering from Cookt for a few weeks now, and it’s been such a relief to finally have access to fresh halal diet food that’s both healthy and full of flavor. The meals taste homemade, portions are generous, and everything arrives well-packaged. It fits perfectly into my busy schedule, and I don’t have to compromise on eating halal or maintaining a balanced diet. Definitely one of the best decisions I’ve made for meal prep”

“It’s always been hard to find convenient, high-quality halal food. Most of the time, it’s just fast food or the same few dishes over and over. That’s why COOKT has been such a great find.
