I am usually very satisfied however, on this occasion, the company I chose did not get my quote to me by email as agreed. When I tried to retrieve it the on-line site quoted a much higher price. This is why I can't give a higher review count.

The comparison process using Go Compare was relatively straightforward, but dealing with the insurance company was less easy for someone without a smart phone. I was eventually driven to phoning the company (finding the number was not easy) and speaking to a real person in order to make sure the deal was properly accomplished.

Finds good deals but very disappointing that once you have an account and details saved it doesn't auto-populate the relevant info when you request a new type of quote e.g. used before for motoring, household and pet insurance but when I went to get a car breakdown quote I had to enter all my personal details again!

I tried to log in and it told me it didn't recognise my details (not that I just had the wrong password). I thought because it had been a year since I used it that it had cancelled my details. So I went to set up an account and it said - you already have an account. So I just needed to reset the password. Why didn't it just say that from the beginning? Cheapest quote I got was from my existing insurer but £50 cheaper than their renewal price they sent me. So I called them and they said - no they couldn't give me that price. So I said I would be leaving them. Went for next company. Went through all the details. Got to the payment screen and it said - can't complete payment please call company. Called them and they said 'sorry, we're really busy-we'll call you back in the morning'. They didn't call back. Got to the evening - gave them a call - they had to clarify a few things and then completed payment. I know that's not just problems with gocompare - but it's part of the user experience - and it wasn't smooth. Frankly the operators from the insurance companies weren't that pleasant either. I would still recommend you - because at the end of the day I saved money. But someone from gocompare needs to go on and try out their own processes. Try the system and a bit of mystery shopping - because it could be improved - and the insurance companies need sorting out.

Quote was good but when I went to pay it had gone up by over £70 so I telephoned Hastings and spoke to Marcel how I found very un- helpful so, I decided to go with another company

When you fill in all the forms then you get a price from the insurance company and you have added that you want your no claims protect it and when you pick the one you want then they want you to pay more to add protect no claims when you have already filled it in your site

Insurance fine ! Meal deal a waste of time ? Unable to download the app as only have a basic phone? Couldn't acquire membership card with a membership Number but require the card to obtain a Membership No? When checking where to eat in my area nearest facility 12 miles away? Total waste of time would maybe recommend for insurance but meal deal a waste of time

I chose RAC Insurance but was unable to obtain a RAC Plus quote after several requests from the RAC site and eventually gave up and went elsewhere.
