“GW legal have been our solicitors for an ER mortgage which completed recently. The process was handled very efficiently with everything happening to the expected timetable - give 5 stars for that. What slightly disappointed me was that simply asking questions (e.g. to understand the lender's ts and cs) seemed to cause a problem (3 stars for this). In many cases I was referred to others. And the solicitor that came to see us, who was great in every other respect, told us that such a long list of questions could result in our case being put to one side. This seems wrong: an ER mortgage is a significant event and we should be able to ask our solicitors about anything that arises in order to be sure that we understand the terms etc. I appreciate that this is a highly regulated industry and that there is risk involved but, surely (or maybe I'm out of date) my lawyer is fully on my side and shouldn't be telling me to get my answers from the lender or elsewhere. I just felt a bit as though I was in a standard process and I must just comply. But otherwise, it was great and people on the phone were very polite and helpful (as long as I didn't ask questions).”

“I have previously sent a review scoring you as Very Poor. You subsequently sent me an email asking for contact details, which I duly sent. I then received an email from the person responsible for my giving a low score quoting the same old party line. So all you did was ask the person responsible for my dissatisfaction to reply to me directly. It seems my low score is justified because it certainly wasn't an impartial assessment of my score!!”
