i am still waiting a response from you. Why did you allow 3rd party solicitor to increase our Equity realease from a maximum 64k to 75K Costing me Mr David Coates 9.5K from my own personal pension pot. I have the paperwork which states 64k. I will be taking the matter up with the ombudsman.

Poor customer service. File was dealt by assistants rather than solicitor himself, the solicitor made no attempt to call client to discuss clients concerns. The assistants made continuous errors on the file. A chain free transaction took 5 months to complete. The firm made error in the completion statement which was identified hours before exchange. The vendors had no electricity certificates and the client was informed of this few weeks prior to exchange. The estate agent has advised they have never seen poor service of such in their entire career. I would definitely not recommend this firm to anyone.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Shocking experience. Reduced me to tears with frustration. Solicitors blaming other parties, other parties blaming solicitors for a missed drawdown. Asked for phone calls to be listened to & asked for circumstances to be looked into. Still waiting. Will NOT be recommending their services, in fact will voice the opposite to anyone that will listen.

GWlegal were selected/recommended by Age Partnership and we would have hoped this came with subject matter expertise and a joined-up approach but neither of these were the case. The solicitor that conducted the home visit repeatedly had to call the office to answer our questions. It was also astonishing that the email that the solicitor used to transfer documents was personal and not a business one. Surely this is a breach of security and possibly GDPR too. When arranging the home visit the solicitor was asked repeatedly what evidence was required to prove identities and told that nothing was required of Edward Markham because his daughter Kerry was acting on this behalf. Then when actually meeting, we were told that birth and marriage certificates were required for Edward. We told the solicitor in advance that Margaret and Edward had no photo ID, and this was acknowledged, only for this to be repeatedly demanded when in person. Not being told in advance, and in reality, the things being agreed in advance were changed, caused undue stress and delays. The solicitor also asked for buildings insurance, which was supplied during the home visit, which was deemed acceptable only for things progressing so slowly that the insurance actually got close to elapsing and GWlegal/Canada Life then insisted that the insurance was renewed early and a new round of paperwork had to be submitted. If the original submittal was dealt with in a timely manner then this would not have been unnecessary. Throughout the equity release process, time has always been critical. We found the lack of pace and lack of feedback on progress especially stressful and frustrating.

Absolutely diabolical and the worst solicitors I have ever dealt with Not sure if they are working from home But the reception is horrific I sorted a lot out myself chased and sorted land registry and even sorted mortgage provider re redemption figure which solicitors asked me to chase. Really not sure what I have paid for and completion dates change hourly Extra expenses add which I was t informed about Completely dissatisfied and would t ever recommend

Overloaded with 146pages of information.. No one actually in control and as a result we lost our contract despite all our compliance. You were still processing our case right up to a few days before its sudden cancellation. We felt abandoned because you didn’t see it coming and didn’t warn us. This is not all Legal and General’s fault.

My experience was very stressful & it made me very anxious !! I was given Lisa Stanton as my solicitor, but I was never able to get hold of her, then was told after 2 weeks of being fobbed off & given the wrong information by whoever I was speaking to when I called, that Lisa was now off long term, the adviser(Mary)you sent to my home was telling me the wrong information when I contacted her for help she then said she would get someone from GWLegal to call me, when they did call the next day they told me that the advisor(Mary) wouldn't know the information it's a solicitor that I needed to talk to, however your advisor(Mary)introduced herself as a solicitor, so the person on the phone I felt was implying that I should know what to do ! I explained I'm a hairstylist & have no knowledge of any of this. I'm not sure if Lisa & her team were knowledgeable on all this I felt they were out of their depth, which was worrying to me. Then I was given Emma Gilhooley who was amazing & knew exactly what she was doing & guided me on the right path with the right information & what I needed to do which was so much easier & simple than anyone in your company had advised before. if I dealt with Emma from the beginning I would of given you a 5 star. Everyone else I've dealt with have been absolutely incompetent & caused me much stress & anxiety that I did not need to have. So that's why I've given you a 1 star rating.

If there was an option to leave 0 stars, I would. Elaine Beamish is completely inflexible and incapable of understanding that I am paying her and that isn't a favour she is doing. She does not accept scanned signatures (in contravention with Law Soc and HMG rules) and is totally useless. So are her staff. Your delays have resulted in me having to have my mortgage offer extended and I am afraid I may now miss the new deadline. Please call me on 07391-408245 Andrew Pinto

you would have thought it was GWlegal paying me and Not me paying good money for a third rate service on three occasions I sent emails asking for information/help for me to be ignored on every occasion I also left two voice mails with no reply , at the end of the mortgage information was only given to me when prompted by myself , GWlegal had my balance and promised to wing it to me the next day to which it is now 1225 pm and no sign of my money , my only regret is not using a local firm that would have also charged me considerably less

Equity release mortgage . Attention to detail cry poor ,documents sent were incorrect twice and not checked for accuracy . I had to point out errors on these .Difficult to contact on phone , overall service provided was not up to standard I expected. They need to seriously look at their services to clients. I would not recommend using GW legal

2 weeks from a year to complete an equity release. We’re still waiting for our Wills, power or attorney paperwork and our freehold documents. Extremely shoddy service as GW legal have been paid!!!!!
