“went in on the bank holiday Saturday and thought it was strange that it was cash only sales saying the card machine was down”

“Terrible use of communication. After many years of being a loyal customer they have let everyone down with their terrible customer service. My sons received gift certificates for Christmas, but unfortunately after ringing and visiting the shop we have had no contact. Unable to use them on their website so heyho lets put it down to experience and NEVER buy gift certificates for local stores. Disgusted that they can't even put a polite notice in the window regarding their service.”

“I ordered something on the 22/4/19 and it did arrive 5 days later, and I live in Edinburgh. Guess I'm a lucky customer.”

“I also ordered £142 worth of clothing on April 19th and received nothing emails and phone calls unanswered...the only saving grace is I paid with PayPal and I have reported the situation to PayPal and lodged a claim so I should get my money back. I agree it was totally pre meditated upon their part to keep taking orders knowing full well they would not be honoured”

“Like many others I also ordered very large orders on the 19th of April. It is disgusting that a company can be so calculating and premeditated to get as much money out of unsuspecting customers before going bust. I believe this should result in a criminal investigation of the owners and plan on taking this further.”

“Like Many others on here I have ordered goods to the value of £300 and on the 19-4-19 and still awaiting for the items to be delivered. Still showing Awaiting Shipment on website. I have phoned numerous times with no reply and just a answer machine that no longer allows you to leave a message. I have rang different companies next door to Henry Brummel and been informed the building is closed with no activity. And the website is no longer working correctly. With the lack of communication and website not working correctly I’d say they have ceased trading. Will be contacting bank to try and get a refund. Pity as I have used Henry Brummel previously a few times with no issues. If they have gone bust you would think they would put up something on the website rather than leave people in limbo not knowing what’s going on.”

“Shambles of a company, hope they do go bankrupt! Returns policy is the worst I’ve ever heard of! Would never use again, postage costs are also shocking and staff are rude!!”

“Have used HB many times in the past but only bought in store not online . Looking at their site I reckon they have gone out of business . A good guy who worked there in the past ( Munch ) isn't there now , working in Brum . Could be wrong , and hope I am for everyone who may be owed money .”

“Pretty much the same as a few others here, no issues in the past and been using them for a while now. Communication can be a bit weak sometimes but always got my stuff and at good prices and the staff are great. Bit concerned about last weekend though, haven’t received my order you and my account says awaiting shipment. Called last Tuesday, after the bank holiday, spoke to someone and I was told there were a lot of orders to process, which tbh I expected but wasn’t concerned there were any issues. Tried to call today but ringing out?? Anyone managed to talk to anyone yet?”

“I have used Henry Brummel for years and they have always been excellent , but last week, like many others, things seem to have completely ground to a halt. When I tried to make a credit card payment the web site said ''vendor account closed'' .My guess is they are bankrupt, hope I'm mistaken in that assessment.”

“Have purchased goods more than 7 days ago. Nothing has turned up and no despatch email. Have called them more than 5 times a day for the last 7 days and no answer all you get is an automated voicemail saying “sorry you are unable to leave a message” have also sent an email and no response. Please do not buy from here, I have reported them to the bank.”

“The quality of the purchases I recently made were spot on and the prices almost unbelievable. A couple of items I'd ordered were the wrong size which was my error, Henry Brummel refunded me the same morning my items were returned.”

“I have also ordered items and not received them but mate of my ordered on the Thursday and got his order on Thursday just gone plus got a refund for 2 items that was out of stock so really think if was ripping people off he done to everybody but saying that I hope mine come”

“Awful company. Failed to refund me for a jumper I returned. Didn't reply to emails. Ended up opening a visa dispute with my bank to get my money back. Hope they go bankrupt”

“Hi All Like a lot of us we have ordered goods from Henry Brummel in the sale and we haven’t received goods yet and money taken. I rang a Ron’s News which is a newsagents next door to Henry Brummel and I was informed the shop is shut due to a bereavement within the branch and shop should be re opening on 29th April. Yes they should have posted this on there website to at least stop us worrying if we have been ripped off or not. I’d say we will all be ok once they re open. Just thought I’d post this to help people realise why we are getting no response from the shop.”

“Ordered 8 days ago spending over £200, No delivery of goods, no confirmation and no response to emails and they do not answer the phone. Have sent 2 emails and made over 25 calls to both their numbers with no answers. They have took my money and i’ve not even seen the goods and had no response. Avoid at all costs! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!”
