I had great difficulty in scheduling my washer delivery. The day before delivery my appointment was changed from 8 AM to 4-7 pm. I advised Home Depot and even a Manager that my association didn't allow deliveries after 6 PM. No one could help me to confirm that it would be delivered by 6. Truck came at 4, while it was raining. Driver refused to bring the washer up my driveway and into the house. I even offered to pay him an extra $40. He said he would wait 15 minutes and call me if when he left. He just left and I was left out in the cold. I reported it to Home Depot right away and asked they send the driver back since it stopped raining. They called the dispatcher of the independent delivery company and said he would not send the truck back. They wanted to reschedule but I wouldn't deal with Home Depot ever again. I cancelled my order, which they could have cared less. Employees are not empowered and worthless. TIP: AFTER CANCELLING MY ORDER I WENT TO BRANDSMART WHERE I RECEIVED THE SAME WASHER FOR ABOUT $100 LESS AND WILL BE DELIVERED BY THERE OWN TRUCKS! Also, Home Depot will continue to loose business to Amazon since by the time i'm given a SKU to look for in an aisle of 10,000 SKUs I could order at amazon and have the same or next day. Worst processes and customer relations of any Company odf dealt with in decades. wasted my time but saved money at BRANDSMART!

I bought a washer/dryer set from Home Depot (Yorkdale/Billy Bishop Way Toronto. The installer, arranged by Home Depot, came before the washer dryer was delivered. On delivery, using the Home Depot Delivery Sevice, they damaged my hardwood floor and my hall entry doors. It is two months and they have not acted on my damages. Their installer couldn't come for about a week, so they told me to arrange my own installation and they would reimburse me. I informed them of the cost and got approval. It is now over one month and I have not been reimbursed. They said the 'cheque is in the mail' 5 weeks ago. They do not return my calls or answer my emails. I am most dissatisfied at the lack of 'Customer Sevice' and seriously out of pocket. Never again...

Recently, I needed a new boiler as my heat source. Mine had died. I decided that I needed estimates. There were several contractors I would not even consider. One charged me $100 to look at the old boiler and give me an estimate. One spoke to me on the phone and told me that he could give a wonderful deal. He did not tell me what he would replace my boiler with (btus, type, size, what else was needed). He did not even come to my home to see my home's square feet or my basement. So, I was down to three contractors. One was Home Depot. I have purchased from Home Depot for many, many years. The Home Depot contractor gave me the highest priced quote for the least. The boiler he was going to install was 59,000 btus with a 5 year warranty. The other contractors who gave me estimates quoted good quality, high efficiency 80,000 btus or 105,000 btus boilers. They, also, gave longer warranties, as long as ten years. One would even give me one year of free service. So, the Home Depot quote was one of the worst for the highest cost. I contacted Home Depot Customer Service by email. A man from Resolution Expediter-Services, wrote back to me and said: "I receivved your email regarding the qoute for an installation of a Boiler. Home depot prices are very competitive based on market pricing. We do stand behind our work 100%. I apologized for the dissatisfaction." I hate to tell him that the other contractors stand behind their work as well. Home Depot's quote was a sham. So much for resolution or satisfaction. To me, his answer was too bad, so sad, good bye. Now I have a different viewpoint of Home Depot. I don't trust them and will not shop with them again. There is always Lowe's. The two companies are so similar that there is no major difference between the two.
