“International Citizens Insurance helped me to navigate the complex issue of selecting a private health insurance for ex-pats in Europe. They guided me through the selection process for an insurance vendor, competently answered all my questions, provided me with quotes and helped me to finalize the policy. I was very impressed by the competence of the advisor, who was always there when I needed her and who answered all my many questions in a very timely manner. “As part of my search for global health insurance, I contacted your brokerage and ended up hearing from two representatives, Mark and Will. Because Mark is based in Dubai, his outreach often came very early in the morning when I wasn’t available, so I primarily continued the process with Will. Will was incredibly helpful, patient, and thorough — he answered all of my and my partner’s questions over multiple calls, and clearly explained the application process. I also want to clarify the source of my confusion regarding the 10% discount. At the time of Mark’s call, I was under the mistaken impression that the discount was based on the application-submission date. So when Mark told me that I had only minutes left to secure the discount because his shift was ending, it felt alarming and created a lot of pressure. Only afterward did my partner remind me that Will had actually explained the policy correctly earlier — that if underwriting got back to us before the end of November, we would need to finalize payment before December for the discount to apply. So the misunderstanding was on my side, but the way the information was presented during Mark’s call amplified the confusion. When Mark called on November 31st, the interaction felt rushed and unsettling. He stated he could only take payment over the phone, asked for passport and ID copies to be emailed (which didn’t feel like a secure method for handling PII), and the audio quality was poor enough that it was difficult to understand him at times. Because of the tone, urgency, and lack of initial coordination with Will, I wasn’t sure whether he was part of the same team or attempting to take over the case. To clarify the situation, I asked him multiple times to coordinate with Will, but he didn’t do so until I insisted — he eventually cc’d Will in the final purchase email. Additionally, I wasn’t able to access the exclusions report due to a system conflict, which contributed to the uncertainty in that moment. Overall, my experience with Will was excellent, but the interaction with Mark left me confused and uneasy. I believe there’s an opportunity for the brokerage and Cigna teams to improve alignment and communication so customers clearly understand how the process works and don’t feel pressured or unsure when multiple representatives become involved.”

“I am a retired American who owns an apartment in Italy. I felt daunted by the project to achieve an international health insurance plan, until I began to work with Will Smith, International Insurance Specialist at International Citizens Insurance. Will filtered through my options and explained the differences. The best choice became clear and happily, my insurance application was promptly accepted.
