Just had to cancel a holiday due to Covid restrictions and James villa refused to give any refund . I was told it was rough luck and I can only cancel more than 30 days beforehand . That’s the small print they don’t tell you about. When I explained that the country admission rules Changed And me and the family could not physically get into the country , their response was that was tough luck. When I explained they suggested they had already lost a lot of money due to Covid and could not accommodate a Refund. Jet 2 fully refunded flights and car hire . I will NEVER BOOK WITH THEM AGAIN. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR FOR A COMPANY I HAVE USED FOR YEARS !!!

a real proper caring company , unfortunately due to the re classing of Portugal it is no longer possible for the four of us to go on holiday next week. sadly James villas have refused to move or even refund our trip, we have had the villa booked since 2019 and have stuck with them through covid , along with their price hikes only to be mocked by losing all our money.

I Have just lost my deposit with James Villa Holidays. The time had arrived to pay the final balance on my holiday, I called them and asked as we aren't allowed to travel at the moment what is their policy for refunds? I was told by Sophie that as of the moment they would need to take my full balance and see what happens 7 days before the date of my holiday. In other words she was asking me to give them more money in hope that I may get it all back, if I didn't pay up in full now they would take it as a cancellation of my holiday and I would loose my deposit. After I expressed how disappointed I was with this they offered to move my deposit to a holiday next year I agreed to this and the holiday was a little cheaper (it was June rather than July) however Sophie then asked me to pay yet MORE MONEY as a deposit when I questioned this her response was "well the deposits have gone up for next year" an absolute joke.

I could no longer stand to see those Bluenoses sitting at the top of the league and hearing them all going on about the very overrated James. So, I put on my full kit (plus shoes) and settled down to watch the greatest team in der werrrrrld take their place back on the top of the Prem and push those bitter Blues off their perch. Then it all went wrong and we got hammered 7-2? This is not the Villa that I expected and I am far from happy with this service. You brochure says you have Villas for the whole family, yet my whole family is crying today. My nan is jibbing the bingo tonight as Blue Betty will be there. It says your Villa will help me relax? RELAX! I was proper livid kidda. How could I relax with all them goals going past the mighty reds? Is this a joke to you? You really have no idea about what type of Villa that I expected. And calling yourselves 'JAMES VILLAS' is just taking the mick. Do you not think naming yourselves after a Colombian bluenose and a jammy Brummie team would upset the greatest fans ever? Well I will never use your firm again. I am now giving up on a Villa and going to google some toffees.

Profiting from covid! Had to cancel our villa and flight to Cyprus as can't get a pcr test locally. 50 days notice yet they say only £191 refund from £700 outlay yet no doubt the villa will be relisted and rent quickly at far more than we paid 11 months ago as very little availability left for the data we travel on. Never again!

I fully appreciate the National and even global situation with Covid-19 right now but have to say the way James Villas are operating at present is neither considerate or professional. We are in unprecedented times. We are booked to go to Greece on 4th September I have been isolating due to asthma, and now its a threat that Greece will be added to the quarantine list. As you can imagine not nice to go on a holiday ! this is our third holiday booked with them, will be our last - I asked if we could transfer our deposit to a booking for next year - categorically a NO - hiding behind the Government guidelines 'that its safe to travel' what about our mental health? who wants to go on holiday in these circumstances ??! they said our only option was cancellation - losing our deposit of £350 which they have had for a year. Not putting their customers first. Had they transferred my deposit they would be in a better position as they would still have that and my custom next year and future years - not anymore. My colleague booked with TUI and they were allowed to transfer their deposit and book for next year instead.

We are in unprecedented times, my flight out on 2nd May to Faro has now been cancelled by BA and my return flight on 15th May is also cancelled. You will still not yet cancel my booking for a villa only and provide a refund at this time. I am not sure if you are just protecting your own interest or your villa owners, you are not protecting people like me. I have used you for 20 years and thought you were a decent company. We will not be going ahead with this booking but will not cancel until we know a full refund will be given. Do you really think people will be travelling in 5 weeks time? Even if we are, I don’t have any flights booked now and BA issued a refund straight away. I think you should take a long hard look at your business, people are ill and dying and you stick to your T&C’s. No empathy or understanding of the real world. I will never book with you again. Can you and the villa owners not understand what is going on with health and travel. You hide behind the government advice not to travel up to 15th April, do you really believe we will be travelling in May.
