“Very poor support, not like it used to be I have been a customer of LCN and the company before it for over 15 years and recommended them too to others. We had a server fail and I asked support to update come glue records to our new server IP as you can't do it via the control panel, unlike other providers. 3 days past...
The response from William was "Before we make the change for you I would like to clarify one thing. In order to create the glue records, the domain name has to be delegated to the new nameservers. Are you happy for that to happen (have you got all the relevant zones configured on those nameservers)?
If you can re-open this ticket through the online control panel (Once logged in click 'Support Tickets"
Then he closed the ticket. So no action, all our client's mail continued to bounce and now we are on a spam list pending removal.
I called in and I was bounced around 3 agents, none of them passing on the information I had given. So having to explain myself 3 times and being on the phone for 20mins.
This is a 30 second admin process. I know I've been doing this for over 25 years.

“This is not the LCN of yester years. They are no longer a place to go if you want to progress in your business. They nearly robbed me a week ago. Thank God I got back my money when I informed them that I was ready to seek legal redress. My story is that I joined this company a little over six years ago - buying domain names and multi site hosting package. I was away and unwell when renewal was up. A few weeks m, under a month, after my renewal date, they shut me down. I was paying for website hosting that was never hosted. All I was under using was the email facility. They shut down that too. I called up to renew and I was offered a package for two years. I paid and the email service was still shut down. They now wanted me to pay £30 to restore my emails. I decided not to pay and to move on. They have no decency and have staff thy are quick to bang the phone on you and get on to other things. Very unhelpful!”
“I have used LCN for a number of years and up to 2 months ago would have rated them higher, but not any more. Two months ago I started getting authentication failures on sending emails, after 6 weeks of checking and replacing everything I could think of, and numerous phone calls, it was found that bots in Rusia and Hong Kong are trying to use my email address and causing the server to restrict the number of failed attempts and hence refuse to send my valid emails. I have been calling to find out what is happening to remedy this situation both to techincal support and the customer "lack of" service deprtment, all I get is empty promises that someone will call/email me but nothing happens. Beware they will be happy to take your money and give you a bit of support, but if you hit a problem they don't want to know - it's too much trouble.”
“I was a long-standing customer of LCN and they used to offer a really good service, friendly support and reasonable prices. They've slowly increased prices and started charging for things that were previously included. Waiting on hold has lengthened. About a month ago they offered PHP updates to be managed for £150 - excellent value. I went back to my clients who all agreed only to find they'd doubled the price and were essentially holding me to ransom. I really wouldn't recommend them anymore. I'm so angry that they would do this and they fed me loads of nonsense about putting up the price because of high demand, which basically means they realised they could get more money out of customers.”
