“I have had my former Cypress robe for about 15 years - yes, they are that well made. I only finally agreed to buy another when the dryer kept collecting bits of the internal fabric facing, a clear sign it was time to let the old one go.
I looked for the exact same form and specifications from that old perfect robe. The replacement is a. Just as well stitched and constructed but b. The fabrics have lost something. Beyond what ages of wear and laundering have done to my favorite robe, the old somewhat suede exterior fabric had a softness and a bit of a glow welcoming me to wear it every day. Further, the interior terry is no longer the inviting and feels stiffer and less soft on the skin.
Granted, I've not laundered it yet. My fabric experience tells me the new version will be very nice, just not the 5 star experience I anticipated. For the price, I think this is still top notch.”
