“Music Magpie generally have the lowest prices - they use the algorithm on Amazon that slips their products at 1p below any other seller, and then it seems that price is reflected on the same products when they sell them on their own website and sometimes on eBay. I buy lots of used CDs from MM. Probably around three-quarters are OK. But around a quarter maybe are scratched, or have damaged covers. Recently they posted out a box set just in a jiffy bag, rather than encased in card which is how other sellers post these - it was dented en route, one CD case broken. The MM listings on Amazon and eBay list every item as being in Very Good condition. They aren't. Quality control is not great, but then I guess they're dealing with thousands of CDs each week, if not every day. When I've reported an item as faulty I get the standard email telling me this is a rare incident, and usually asking me to return the CD. This is free, but to get a Proof of Posting it involves a trip to the PO. So some grumbles, but I still return to MM for the best prices, and just occasionally an absolute bargain. Though sometimes they've spotted that they’ve got the price wrong before they despatch, and mysteriously discover that the item is damaged and the order is cancelled and refunded, and another standard email arrives in my inbox!”
