Warranty is worthless. Everything is OK with the purchase until something goes wrong. My phone developed a well-known fault with the screen flickering on one side. I returned it to Music Magpie in maintenance mode which is the normal thing to do and after 9 days they returned it to me insisting that I remove the Google account, which is unnecessary for a repair. I did this and returned it to them and it was 5 days before they even looked at it and then they send a copy and paste email to say it the fault has 'clearly been caused due to some form of accidental damage' but they are unable to say what accidental damage or provide any evidence of the accidental damage. The phone has never been dropped or damaged. It was a refurbished phone and so it is to be expected that something might not be right with it and hence the reassurance of the one year warranty, but it has proved to be totally worthless. I will now be taking this to the small claims court. Note also that they do not have a phone number and do not publicise an email address and only reply to about 25% of email replies and never within their promised 24 hours.

Please do not purchase any product from Music Magpie. Unfortunately, I am submitting the below formal complaint with regards to my most recent purchase of a refurbished iPhone with Music Magpie. Over the previous weeks, this iPhone has been spontaneously switching off without warning and whilst on high battery charge with it also being identified as freezing/screen blackout during FaceTime conversations. As you can agree, with a very young baby and with this iPhone being my only form of communication, the above is unsafe and unpredictable when looking after an infant and when working. I cannot rely on this iPhone to satisfactorily hold charge or stay on if required to use this for emergency use, or any daily/usual use. This is unacceptable and not what I expected when purchasing this item. Please note that worryingly and concerningly this iPhone states "Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple battery. Details from this battery may not be accurate" with also stating "This iPhone is unable to determine battery health" within the "Settings" application. Therefore, I can only decipher that a faulty and unacceptable battery has been installed into this iPhone. As I have sadly lost any trust in this device and any offered repair or replacement, with it being impractical and unsafe for myself to be without any form of communication for seven working days during this process, I deem offer of posting this iPhone for this significant amount of time to be impractical, unrealistic and unsafe and therefore an unacceptable solution to this fault, which will sit inline with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 "Satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. Services must be provided with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and for a reasonable price." This is not the product or service level that I expect with regards to safety and suitability of product provided.

My experience with MusicMagpie has been incredibly disappointing and raises serious questions about how devices are assessed once they arrive at their warehouse. I sent my iPad in perfect condition, carefully packaged in a strong box with multiple layers of bubble wrap to ensure it was fully protected during transit. The original quoted payment was £221. After they received it, I was suddenly told the device was “bent beyond repair” and the offer was reduced to £26. Naturally I asked whether the iPad had arrived damaged. I was told that if it had arrived damaged it would have been noted in the system. According to them, there were no notes indicating damage on arrival. So according to their own process: The device did not arrive damaged, otherwise it would have been recorded. Yet they claim it is now bent beyond repair. When I asked for clarification or any evidence explaining this contradiction, none was provided. The offer was simply reduced and I was expected to accept it. This creates a situation where customers send valuable devices, only to be told later that the item is damaged and worth a fraction of the original quote, with very little transparency about how that conclusion was reached. I know the condition my iPad was in when it left my hands, and the way this has been handled has completely undermined my confidence in the service. If you’re considering sending a valuable device to MusicMagpie, I would strongly recommend thinking carefully before doing so. Once your item is in their possession, you may find yourself with a dramatically reduced offer and no clear explanation as to why.

I ordered an Apple Watch from MusicMagpie. Royal Mail claim it was “delivered”, yet it was never delivered to my address. There is no signature, no delivery photo, no proof of delivery to me at all. Despite this, I am now being forced to pay for a high-value item that I do not have. Royal Mail refuse to investigate properly because their system shows “delivered”, and MusicMagpie are happy to wash their hands of the situation and leave the customer to take the financial hit. This is completely unacceptable. If a company is selling expensive electronics, it is their responsibility to ensure secure delivery and actual proof that the item reached the customer. Simply pointing at a tracking status and refusing to help when something clearly goes wrong shows a total lack of customer care and accountability. The outcome here is simple: MusicMagpie took my money, I never received the Apple Watch, and nobody involved is willing to take responsibility. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of ordering high-value items from MusicMagpie to think twice. If your parcel goes missing, you may be left with no item, no refund, and no meaningful support.

I ordered a phone from them on Thursday and paid for next day delivery. 8 days later and I am still waiting for the phone and they refuse to help. Their customer service is nothing more than unprofessional and downright rude. Unwilling to help and they simply do not care once they have your money.

I ordered an iPad from Music Magpie which Royal Mail marked as delivered, but I never received it. The delivery photo clearly shows a completely different property that isn’t mine or any of my neighbours. Despite explaining this, Music Magpie refused to provide a refund, insisting that because Royal Mail marked it as delivered, their responsibility ends there. This is incorrect. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the retailer is responsible for ensuring goods are delivered to the customer, and the risk remains with the retailer until the item is actually received. In addition, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 make it clear that the seller must deliver the goods to the correct address and resolve issues with failed or misdeliveries. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told to contact the police — an unnecessary use of police time when the issue is clearly a misdelivery and the retailer’s legal responsibility to resolve. The lack of accountability and support from an established company has been incredibly disappointing. I won’t be ordering from Music Magpie again and would urge others to be cautious when buying higher-value items.

Tried to sell my folding phone which was in excellent condition. Offer was devalued by £200 as phone was "bent with heavy cospetic damage". Completely untrue. Sent several emails - no response apart from "we are too busy to answer you". Asked for IMEI no. to check it was actually my phone. No response. So very disappointed - beware of this company

I am seriously disappointed with this company. BE WARNED - DO NOT SELL YOUR TECH TO MUSIC MAGPIE. I went online 2 weeks ago and retrieved a quote to sell my iPad Air for £220. I was happy with the price they offered me. By the time I had paid for express delivery, a box and bubble wrap I had spent £25 just to get it to their depo in Salford. The company promise same day payment, this could not be further from the truth. It took them 3 days to get back to me after the technicians completed a 72 point check, the iPad passed all of the BAR one and offered me £19.30? What a complete waste of my time. I have rejected their offer and I am still awaiting my iPad back, a shoddy reply from their customer services state that they will send it with a tracking number and I will receive email confirmation as to when this will be sent. Just absolutely awful from start to finish. Would not recommend whatsoever and god knows what condition the iPad is coming back to me in. I’m really sorry I bothered. I am a very angry customer with no iPad back!!!

Terrible experience. I sold an item to them which I sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery which was delivered within the 21 day quote guarantee period. However, they failed to process the item within the period, which I now believe to be intentional after attempting to resolve this with their customer service team. So they devalued my item by a significant amount, which is breach of contract and non-compliant with their terms of service. First of all, they do not provide a telephone number, all communications had to be via email. The failed to respond to my first two messages within a reasonable timescale; on my third message I finally got a response. I’ve paid £9.20 to send the item, they have reduced the quote by £63.50 and it matches the condition quoted which has been confirmed by them. The only resolution they have offered is to have the item returned; however that means I am at a financial loss of £72.70 when I am not at fault. I’ve given them every opportunity to resolve this but they are just dismissive and do not actually read the messages properly. I am going to have to seek advice from trading standards and I will happily raise a case with small claims court as I am not allowing such a company to abuse the system. Terms of service and contracts are there in place to protect both the company and consumer equally, and they have twisted and disregarded it. I will not give up. I need the money urgently, but I’m not being bullied into giving in when I have done nothing wrong.

Horrific experience when trying to sell my device to Musicmagpie. Sent a basically new device after a warranty claim to them for assessment. Cost £10 for special delivery. I was told that my device wasn't as described due to being 'knox void'. I was offered 10% of the original quote. They returned the device and I confirmed that Knox wasn't void and the protective plastics included by Samsung were removed and there was also a slight mark on the inner screen. I reached out to their customer support and provided photo evidence that my device WASN'T Knox Void. I was just told they won't refund or offer to pickup my device again and won't reassess as the review was completed by their 'expert technician'. Also they wouldn't help around the damage without 'timestamped' images showing before and after which I didn't have (granted my own fault for trusting a company to be careful with my device). I will never use this service again andwill avoid at all costs.

A poor generalisation of options for picking the condition of the item you want to sell, pick one, then they say item is not as described, like it was my fault, they revise their original offer with a shocking price. Poor service all around.

Completely untrustworthy. I They offered a few pounds£ more than Mazuma but then. Pained my phone wasn’t as described and knocked the offer down to. But less than Mazuma. Not enough to make it worthwhile returning but they have ripped me off. My phone wasn’t spotless kept in an expensive case from day 1 so I know it was as described.

Slow service. Unreasonable devaluation of products. Non shipment of an order meant I had to pursue a refund through PayPal. Buyer beware. I will never use music magpie again.

Set galaxy note 9, was told phone had screen burn and so offer was reduced by £150. Regected new offer, and upon examining phone screen burn turned out to be a fingerprint. I suspect this was a scam to get the phone cheap, will not use musicmagpie again, and I’ve been a customer for 5 years.
