“Not happy with the new updated version all my previous checks have gone”

Hi, many thanks for your feedback. When we set about re-building our new website and app, saving, converting and presenting old data was a big challenge. So we carried out research to understand the need for it. This research suggested that there was little value in a customer accessing old checks, particularly free look-ups, therefore we did not build it in to the new website and app. We hope that you check back with us in the future and are able to utilise some of the useful and interesting features we'll be releasing over the coming months. “I checked out two cars. The 2nd advised me that finance was still outstanding and gave the name of the finance company. However on checking with the company they informed me that this was no longer the case and that the updated records can take up to six to eight weeks to be updated. Something to be aware of. Apart from that excellent value for money and very informative.”

“I have used this app on a daily basis for the last 2 years. I am really disappointed with the latest update. I really liked the simplicity of the previous version, it was very easy to use compared with the new version. I paid £1.99 for the basic info on a car, however it was not made clear that this was for each car, not for a month/year membership etc. I took the gamble and it didn’t pay off. Feel like I have been robbed. Sadly I will not be using this app as often as before. Based on the latest version, I won’t be so enthusiastic about the app to friends.”

“Indeed I am surprised when I checked a car with your service. You said that there is finance on a car, but the seller told me that there wasn’t. Then Ichecked with 2-3 different providers. All were clean. Then I checked secınd time with you, your system still says there is finance. I may wasted my money? Maybe you are checking the old records?”

Hi, thanks for your feedback. We rely on finance companies providing us with their most up-to-date information, and as you can imagine, this can sometimes be delayed. Our advice would be that it is always better to be alerted to possible finance records which can be clarified, than buying a car not knowing it had finance, so never a wasted effort to do a check. Our guidance is always to contact us or seek further information from the seller (or an alternative check), which you did, as you can always get swift clarification. Thanks.

Hi, unfortunately, none of this data is available free anywhere. The best way to look at this is to ask yourself the question "what can I afford to lose?" not "what can I afford to pay?". Paying £1.99 or £9.99 instead of risking thousands of pounds, the safety of yourself, your family/friends or other road users or simply breaking the law, is a very small fee. We used to equate it to getting a survey done when buying a house, or other insurance products, where, you resent paying for them, but it's better to have them, than the risk of not. Hope that helps. “The best part about this app is it was free when checking registration plates for example you couple see engine size, make, colour ,model. However now you have to purchase this information for £1.99, gives great details about the vehicle but at £1.99 each time it can get quite expensive. However I love the new layout of the app but it’s just very pricey.”

Hi, thanks for your feedback. BHP and some other pieces of data were missing by mistake and we are looking to resolve them ASAP. In other instances, we are contractually bound not to show some data where we provide it for free. We will be looking at ways we can provide more data to our users in the future. Thanks.

“Old site was better you could download a certificate... Very helpful on the phone had thought about changing when it was updated but the the response when there's stuff to check on the phone is always very good.. Main person ii think is Colin... Very friendly and helpful...”
