“Delayed car purchase due to car check report which turned out to be old information. Car loan had long been cleared. Wasted hpi fee in this case.”

Hi, thanks for your feedback. We rely on our data suppliers to provide us up-to-date information, but there can sometimes be a delay in the update being sent to us. We are always working with our suppliers to provide data as quickly as possible but sometimes this is not possible. On the other hand, it is better to be informed that there was finance than not and a quick call into our contact centre can get updated information whilst you're on the phone. We do always suggest you call us when there is a finance marker. Thanks.

“So much worse than the previous app! Produces a generic value based on average mileage instead of asking for exact mileage which was the case with previous app. I paid for a valuation and it simply gave me the value shown in the free factsheet. Rubbish! Really really bad that I lost all of my previous, paid for checks when they changed the app. Some had been bought within the last few weeks for £10’s of pound!!”

Hi, many thanks for your feedback. When we set about re-building our new website and app, saving, converting and presenting old data was a big challenge. So we carried out research to understand the need for it. This research suggested that there was little value in a customer accessing old checks, particularly free look-ups, therefore we did not build it in to the new website and app. We are looking at adding the mileage-specific valuation feature in the near future, unfortunately it didn't make our initial release! We hope that you check back with us in the future and are able to utilise some of the useful and interesting features we'll be releasing over the coming months. Many thanks.

Hi, as part of our most recent security and compliance audit we implemented a number of changes which restricted our website and service by country or IP address. Unfortunately it looks like you are no longer able to use the service because of that. Our service is specifically for UK-based users checking UK-registered cars. Thanks.

“I paid £1.99 for a basic car check, however I never received any information regarding the vehicle. I received two emails, the first of which asked me to verify my email address which I did and the second saying I would receive a web link for info regarding the car. I tried to call the company late Sunday morning but they were closed. The email was not in my junk folder either.”

Hi Joe, it looks like there was an issue with emails at that time. However, when you complete the purchase, the car check immediately loads on-screen, so you should have been able to see the details right away. In addition, because you have registered (and verified by using the email) you can log back in at any time and see your check. You do not need the email (although useful) to actually see the check. Thanks.

“Always a good service rather annoying that the site has changed and had to go through Registering again as iv been a customer for a number of years and also I’m sure I had unused credits on the old site ?? One last gripe it would be better If there was an option to get the report via email”

Thanks for the suggestion, we'll be adding an email in the near future, it won't attach the report but will include a link to access it. “Decent report and cheaper than most competitors, only problem is i didn’t get the report sent to my email like it was supposed to. However not a major issue as it’s available to view on my account if I log back in on the website”

“Purchased check for a high value classic vehicle with mileage of 2500 claimed. Mycarcheck confirmed everything was above board and that chassis numbers matched paperwork. Very thorough check. Much appreciated because if the vehicle was purchased without this check and later it was found to have discrepancies, it would have been extremely costly. Only recommendation would be to make it cheaper to attract more customers who use cazana, rac etc”

“Was about to purchase a car from a private seller but was told they had lost the log book. A friend suggested doing a car check with Mycarcheck, paid the fee and within a matter of minutes the check flagged up car rightoff. Money well spent doing the check. Thank you.”

Our product information and prices are very clear. Our products (including the app) is specifically to be used as a vehicle checker. We recently changed our app and removed data that we were no longer able to show for free. Unfortunately that removed a feature that some users had been able to use for free. To be clear, that was not the purpose of our app, it was an unintentional benefit to some users who were not using the app for its intended purpose. Thanks.

“Found a car for sale on Facebook, very cheap .Decided to check it out, looked at dvla not check an found it had only done 1000 miles between 2018 and 2019 mots.so I decided to do a check on it's history. My car check was the one that looked good to me .was I pleased I did this as results showed the car had been a cat c right off.phew. near miss.”
