“The information came though instantly that was very good, how ever the car I put though I knew was written off but was 'salvaged' and that was nearly a year ago and it's been on the road since February and haven't updated it so it still says the cars a write off even though it's been assessed and has passed it's safety checks etc”

Good morning, I have checked the vehicle and the Cat loss on the vehicle will always be part of its history and therefore not be removed from the Vehicle data checks or from DVLA, we would recommend anyone buying a Cat loss vehicle needs to inform there insurance company about there loss as some insurance companies do not cover write off vehicles, I hope this has been off some help, Kind regards Richard

Good morning, You can clarify the owner’s details from the V5/log book and we always advise to check the sellers ID (preferably driving license) and you should notice the name and address on both are the same. Unfortunately due to data protection laws DVLA do not provide the owners name and address so we cannot advise of this. As far as we are aware the only way to get personal details of registered owners would be through the DVLA by applying for a V888 form (Request by an individual for information about a vehicle) however it has to be under exceptional circumstances. “This is a good service, good value and in the end you have the peace of mind of knowing the car you are about to buy is not only clean on the inside and out but clean in regards any outstanding finance, insurance loss, claims, if stolen, imported and a full MOT history so you can be confident re a cars mileage. Worth every penny in my mind. Forgot to say :- depending on the product you buy in addition you get a valuation so you know if your buying at the correct price.”

“On the check everything was green , how-ever the report stated that car may be written off but no visible data due to number plate change . I rang them up and they confirmed that car was a CAT D including detail of the damage with dates and when , £10 well spent . Could of easily missed this detail and bought the car .”
