“Growing up, I had a lot of physical limitations that prevented me from functioning like a normal human being. When I turned 20, those limitations got stricter, making me think I should get a service dog. I began the hunt for a service dog, and ultimately came to the conclusion that I should buy a puppy and train her from the start. Well, I found My Golden Retriever Puppies while scrolling through instagram one day, and I contacted Galen with my request for a service dog with a specific temperament. He forwarded me to Martha and Robert, who were such amazing and kind people.
Martha and Robert, being in this business for so long, were able to identify for me a puppy that matched the temperament I was looking for in a service dog. So, in a matter of months, I rasied the money thanks to my community to adopt Chilli, (Then Jasmine), my puppy and soon to be service dog. What was also great is that we sent Chilli to Ashley for two weeks to be trained in all the basic things before coming to us. Ashley did an AMAZING job with Chilli, and we felt the price for the extra training was so well worth it. It laid a foundation that we could work on for her service dog training abilities. Additionally, she got her used to the car which was so handy since we had a long road trip back home.
When it came time to pick up Chilli, it became a whole family affair. We live in Virginia, so we took a family road trip and met Ashley's dad in Pennsylvania to pick up Chilli. It was so kind of him to go out of his way to drop off Chilli to us. The delivery was smooth, and we all instantly fell in love.
A huge thank you to Galen, Martha, Robert, Ashley, and her dad for this whole process of getting Chilli to us. The process was so easy and it was a wonderful experience. She has been a huge blessing in my life and my family's lives. In all my 21 years on this Earth, I don't know how I lived without a dog. Chilli turns 1 in less than a month, and it's already crazy how fast the time has flown. I would highly recommend My Golden Retriever Puppies!
