“Labels look great, but are starting to come off clothing items”

“I was looking forward to using the labels however since my children have started school I have found that I'm constantly having to replace the labels on clothing as they fall off after washing more often than not.”

“I have used STICKINS previously and been very happy with the product and have recommened them to lots of people. I have just sent my littlest to school and have done my first weeks worth of washing and am having to replace about 40% of the stickers. They don't appear to be as adherent. This could get costly if I am replacing them all year. Otherwise for the convenience and speed of dispatch, i couldn't fault the product or company.”

We're sorry to hear your Trons are coming off in the wash. When the instructions are followed this is extremely rare, as the label fuses with the material to which it is applied. However, if you are still experiencing problems, please do contact us and we will arrange for you to return the labels to us and issue you with a full refund.

We are really sorry to hear that you are having problems with your name labels. This happens in a very small percentage of cases and we believe it is to do with a combination of water quality and washing powder, but have not been able to pin down the exact cause. For the vast majority of our customers the labels work perfectly, with many people ordering again and again. For the small number who do experience problems we are happy to offer a full refund; all we ask is that you return the labels to us (or as many as you can).

We are very sorry that you were not happy with your name labels. Our software reduces the font size according to the largest number of characters entered on one line. As you had entered a lot of spaces on one of the lines this reduced the size of the font. If you could reduce the number of characters and/or spaces we would be happy to reprint your labels. We are sorry to hear that you have had problems with Trons. The labels do need to melt slightly as they are applied. By doing this they fuse with the fabric and are then virtually impossible to remove. The material they are made from is very similar to the material used commercially to make designs on T shirts. If you can peel the Trons off the garments then you need to apply more heat. We would also suggest that they are better when stuck directly onto the fabric rather than onto the garment label. Trons were tested against all the main brands of iron-on labels, washed and dried 3 times a week for 2 months. Hope this helps. All that said we do acknowledge that we need to improve our instructions and will be doing so. If you would like some replacement Trons to re-try or to try Stikins instead, then please let us know. “They used to be very good but unfortunately now mass producing labels all the same size with less in the packet and are more expensive. Shame this review did not come 2 years ago when they would have got very good. These labels are now the same as any other. Only saving grace is that I do not have to iron on and they stay on clothes.”

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. Our new Stikins can be used on clothes, shoes and dishwasher items, so customers do not have to buy lots of different label types; this saves money. We experienced a huge shift to this universal product by existing customers in 2010 and 2011, and have had great sales to new customers every year. Unfortunately this customer switch made the original product impossible to supply because the high minimum raw material order, plus lower sales, meant that our stock would be out of date before we could sell it.

We are very sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your name labels. We've been selling Stikins since 2004 and we've found that with a very small percentage of orders (1 per 1000) the name labels will simply fail entirely (i.e. they don't slowly peel off or one or two come away from the garment - they simply all fall off when the clothing is washed). The vast majority of our customers will not experience this issue and are really happy with the performance of our name labels. We've done some research into this and we believe that certain elements combine to cause the labels to fail, although it can be any number of factors that are the reason behind this (such as soft water, non-biological washing powders, certain types of stain remover, etc), which makes it difficult to pinpoint what the source of the problem is for any one particular customer. In these cases we are more than happy to send replacement Stikins, but without being able to isolate the exact cause of what made the first batch fail, you may find that these fail in the same way. Instead we can either replace your Stikins with Trons name transfers (which iron on rather than stick on) or we can offer you a full refund.

“Your labels were recommended to me by a friend but I am disappointed with them. My first three attempts to iron on the labels resulted in one becoming 'screwed up' as I removed the silicon sheet, the other being acceptable and the third peeling off once it had cooled down.”

“Got the iron on lables for my little girl starting school, but after just one wash two of the labels have come off. This is despite following the instructions and using the paper they provide to place over the item and label you are attatching. For this I am rating them a poor.”

We are really sorry your labels arrived damaged; we make every effort to package our labels in a secure way - they are packed in plastic wallets within the envelope - but occasionally things do get damaged in the post. We are sending a replacement pack out and hope these arrive safely this time.
