“Having had National stables recommended to me imagine my disappointment when my roof started to leak in 3 different places after only 10 years! Onduline is supposed to have a 15 year guarantee , but they say it was an installation error and National stables say it is down to Onduline . Nobody wants to help or admit liability. So please don’t believe all that is written on websites and brochures , this 15 year guarantee is not worth the paper it is printed on , and if you are thinking of using either National stables or Onduline my advice would be to avoid both !”

“I had my first fit of National stables 9 years ago , I was happy with them and therefore returned to them so that my yard matches just over a year ago - we had a normal 12x12 stable that is absolutely fine but we also had a 16x16 box which very quickly went VERY mouldy due to lack of ventilation - when I first contacted them they tried everything out the blame back on me ( bedding etc ) but the stable was treated exactly as the others are - the mould in the roof and walls get very quickly and I was worried about respitory problems - after a lot of work I did manage to get them to change the roof and they decided to put in roof vents ( although on my return I had two head height vents that blow into the horses face ) I have and am still awaiting Perspex windows so I can adjust the wind that blows in - I was promised that walls would be washed down to get rid of the mould - they did them send me the money to replace the bottom boards that were so mouldy but I have had to put boarding to the top to hide the awful mould ( of which they will not contribute ) a true story of poor customer service after the money is in the bank - a year old stable that looks worse than my 9 year old ones - the other one fitted at the time looks like new !!!! Such a shame as I wanted more stables to match but the poor customer service has left a bad taste in my mouth 😢”

“I ordered fencing panels after looking at the website they delivered them quickly. But a substandard.not as advertised. Certainly not as in the pictures. Trading standards come to mind.”

“First I had four stables, a hay barn and wash bay erected - from the start the hay barn roof leaked, ( I informed national from the start)then national said when they are in the area they will come and fix it. After a few months they did come and put foam in the roof....because they thought it was from driving rain but I said from the start it was not.....it was summertime so not much rain... I ordered a barn with 7 stables.....my brand new big barn also leaks!!! Not in one place but in 4 places!!! I have plenty pictures of evidence. I contacted national several times...they said they are rarely in our area, so it would be sometime before it can be sorted out. The only way they would come sooner is if I ordered field shelters!!! (Which I need).... I have spent over 40k in total and I am utterly disgusted how bad the after sales service is!!! I do not recommend this company.”

“Fast and shoddy. Customer service non existent. The guttering leaks, the roof leaks, the knots have fallen out of the wood and left holes. Screws missing from roof struts and door hinges. Eventually came back to repair leaking roof after months of emails and calls. The roof still leaks and I get no reply from my emails. I will now have to get a professional in to sort everything out”

“Having had to cancel my order through no fault of my own National Timber buildings saw fit to retain £374 of my deposit. The management were unwilling to discuss the reason for charging this amount for what was a set of standard sketchy plans. I would urge anybody dealing with this company to think twice before paying a deposit on a potential purchase.”

“I thought it would be great to have a purpose built garden room and shed and choose National as were a large company. From the start things were not good. Thy sent the wrong plans a phone call and promise of new plans - never happened. I was told I would need a brick base and double checked with the company that that was correct was told ‘yes’ so we had one laid. Despite my concerns the said building arrived with no glazing as requested, they did send a glazier who told me the window frames were made for double glazed units so he had to bodge them to fit the glass. Worse than that our brick base had to be removed as the shed/garden room was made to sit on a wooden base. The base of the building now has an ugly unfinished look that I’m not happy with. After many e-mails it became clear to me that they were not interested if I had my wits about me I should have told them too add another layer of slatted wood to cover the black damp proof material. I might have just been unfortunate but would I recommend them - No”

“Unfortunately although the structure was erected very professionally and to my satisfaction the roofing which was sub contracted left a lot to be desired. Various letters to the Salesperson has come to nothing and to date a final invoice of the amount paid still has not been received. I paid for “extras” even though they were on the original verbal inquiry but it seems communication within the Sales office is lacking.”

“Following installation of our new block of 3 stables they leaked terribly and despite numerous telephone calls and emails to you, you failed to attend to sort them out. never again will i use your company and i will be making sure that none of my equestrian friends ever use you either. check your records i made a formal complaint and you didn't even have the decency to respond!!! Very unsatisfied and angy ex customer!!!!”
