My dog loves the food snd I love the company .. we love the subscription box and can just about manage it on my budget but I’m afraid my dog doesn’t like the fish and we were wasting it .. I’d love it if you could opt out of a flavour thank you

Dear Team, Delighted with the service and food aspect of the deliveries, as confirmed by Harry the Springer Spaniel. I do not wish this review to be for general release, because I do have one criticism, which may put off potential customers. This is for you alone. However, as a customer of several years, I prefer the original packaging. They fitted precisely in my freezer trays and the food could be split in two with half being fed to the dog, and the remainder resealed and stored in the fridge until used later. The new packages do not stack efficiently in the freezer. Also when splitting the contents, the new liner material gets tangled with the food and causes unnecessary mess and the package cannot be re-sealed. I will of course continue as a customer but believe that the old packaging was preferable and sufficiently environmentally friendly. DE

I have been impressed with the service of the subscription & quality of the food is great but I have to say I am disappointed with the new packaging. The previous packaging was easily recyclable. The new piece of compostable plastic under meat is dirty & always goes in the bin. I have open packets of raw meat in my fridge whereas before there was a lid. I personally feel the change in packaging has been serious detriment to the product.

Loved the new packaging. Though we had hoped that this packaging would keep the food moister, sadly, as has happened frequently in the past, the All Lamb from this batch was as dry as a bone.We wish there could be some consistency with batches

Hi Edward - Thanks for the feedback. The new packaging does indeed lock in the moisture much more so than the previous iteration. All products are different due to the natural differences in moisture content of different cuts of meat - All lamb is consistently the dryest product we do due to the combination of those specific 3 lamb ingredients. Something like Beef & chicken, surf & turf or a chicken based product is always much moister. xx

Our dog loves your food, he can't eat it quickly enough. There is plenty of choice even though we don't give him chicken. With regard to the new packing. They are a bit bigger to fit in the freezer but they defrost quicker because of this which is handy, but we really do miss the lids, having to transfer to containers is annoying so we'll be happier when you manage to get them. Overall great company and service. Good Job guys.

Naturaw is the best pet food supplier I have come across, the fact that they take sustainability as well as quality very seriously is the main reason I use them, Quick delivery service and returnable, re-useable packaging, what more could you ask for? My lovely 11 year old labrador would definately agree with me!

The food and quality have been great up to recently when it appears the raw meat process has changed in some way, is this true? The new packaging is lovely and adheres to our values but the product looks different from what it did before. Thank you

Hi Michael, the ingredients haven't changed, same suppliers, same processes and the product is the same consistency as before (bar one slight teething issue we had with a batch of Lamb & Duck) - it's just formed into blocks for packaging so can appear more solid until you break it up with a fork x

Not very happy with the new dog food packaging. Our dog does not eat a full container a day. It is difficult to pull off the foil in one piece so when it is returned to the fridge it has to be put in a separate container so that it doesnt contaminate other food products in the fridge. The old designed containers had a lid which meant it could be put back in. Dog foods great, well the dog eats everything.

Hi Judith, we are working on a reusable lid that will be available at some point in the near future. The reduction in carbon footprint the new packaging provides is so huge (made in the UK, less weight, less raw material) and the compostability improved so much by the non stick coating that we had to make the switch. A lot of people are either using a tupperware container or something like a wax wrap x

I have been using Naturaw for a while now for my Cockapoo who absolutely loves the food but I am really disappointed with the new packaging. I find it a lot more fiddly with the film on top and not sure what the paper lining is doing at the bottom as it’s just something else that you have to touch to peel off the food. I’m now having to use a plastic tub with a lid to put the rest of the food in for the next day which seems completely against the point of it all being more environmentally friendly. I much preferred the old packaging even if you did get the odd bit of paper stuck to the food. I also think the trays could have been smaller. If it wasn’t for the great quality of the food and good delivery I would be looking for another brand with more user friendly packaging.

Hi Emma, thanks for the feedback. We are working on a reusable lid that will be available at some point in the near future. The reduction in carbon footprint the new packaging provides is so huge (made in the UK, less weight, less raw material) and the compostability improved so much by the non-stick coating that we had to make the switch. In the meantime a lot of people are either using a tupperware container or something like a wax wrap to contain any leftovers. If you are reusing the same plastic container this isn't environmentally un-friendly - going through a new plastic tub every time you opened a pack would be. The paper liner at the bottom is to facilitate getting it cleanly into the trays at the moment - we'll always look to improve things where we can x

Unfortunately was a total waste of money our dog wouldnt even touch any of the food that had any chicken in it (which was most of it) we even tried giving it to another dog who spat it out! Such a shame because we did really see an improvement in hatty's bowel movements on the raw food diet.

This is a highly unusual experience with our product - and across multiple varities suggests a fussy dog rather than an issue with all the products. Please contact customerservices@naturaw.co.uk and we can help you with advice on feeding and transitioning successfully x

If this had been our last order my review would have been glowing. Sadly, our latest order has been very disappointing. We switched from a different raw food provider to Naturaw because it marked itself as having 2 selling points that distinguished itself from the rest: real, chunky raw meat and no plastic of any kind. We loved that our dog had meat that didn't look like paté and that the containers were made from paper. Latest order: meat looks like our cat's tinned food and there is a plastic heat sealed sheet on all of the containers that once cut open do not reseal or even rip off conveniently for us to reseal it with our own cling film WE ARE TRYING TO NOT USE! Not sure what happened to the old methods, but they were fine and we will now likely have to move on to another raw food provider that lives up to its claim of selling dog food that is in solid chunks, not paté, and environmentally conscious packaging. Maybe it's supply issues from Brexit/pandemic but the order was not what we paid for and loved enough the past to switch to you.

Please look at the packaging before leaving a review of this nature. it is NOT plastic, the packaging is 100% PLASTIC FREE and explained in detail on the messaging throughout every single pack (on the front, on the back and even on the film itself) and on our website. The film is made from plants. Granted, the lack of a lid may be a genuine inconvenience to some, which we are well aware of and are already working on a reusable lid. As for the product themselves, same ingredients, same suppliers, same processes as before. Some products may look a little more condensed as before due to the way they are packed but they are the same consistency as before if you run a fork through them. All the best

Food great as always. New packaging is atrocious. Bring back the old version. Lid doesn’t remove easily it has to be torn unless immense care is taken. Can’t reuse the lid, obviously 👎🏼 All the food sticks to the inside of the packaging too. Although the old packaging did this too. Package was delivered to the wrong address despite being a regular subscription. This is not nature raw’s fault.

Hi Benjamin, we are working on a reusable lid that will be available at some point in the near future. The reduction in carbon footprint the new packaging provides is so huge (made in the UK, less weight, less raw material) that we had to make the switch. As for the non-stick, this is a very unusual report and in fact the only one we have had of this nature. In our extensive testing and the vast majority of customer feedback so far, suggests that the non stick aspect is the most successful feature. x
