“Whilst the security process was quick I had a good item confiscated from me because it was frozen. It was a small package well wrapped vans would not have caused any leakage. On googling the item for transporting in my handbaggage I noted that this item should have been allowed. Therefore I’m putting this down to ill informed staff and inconsistent processes.”
“I had 2 small bottles of juice which i was told by a young lady (girl) exceeded the fluid limit. (My fault). I asked if I could drink one as I was dehydrating. (I have an ileostomy). I was told " no i should of thought of that earlier" she took the bottles and walked away. Not a nice way to talk to customers. I was wearing a carrers badge and my wife was with me, she has Alzheimers. I think the girl needs some training on her manners.”
“Baggage collection!!!!! ABSOLUTE JOKE!!! How can Newcastle INTERNATIONAL Airport class themselves anything else than dire!! They DEFINITELY relook at Baggage handlers, amount of them and carousels in use!!!!! DISGRACEFUL SERVICE.”
“Wife has just had her 100ml bottle of coco chanel taken off her at customs saying there was something in it that shouldn't be there. Funny thing is, she bought it in this airports duty free last time we were here. We asked for it to be tested on another machine but we're denied. Some airport worker has just acquired a lovely bottle of perfume. Spoke to a duty free worker and she said that they do it all the time.”
“1 year on from my last review and another visit to Newcastle airport. The new security scanners have been installed and more staff seem to be standing around, however it took allot longer to get through security with bags having to go through the scanners 2 and 3 times. The bar has eventually had a make over at the expense of the customers and pints have gone from £7.30 last year to £7.90 this year.”
“Border guards are a bunch of arrogant twats they should be on dinghy duty in the channel than representing Newcastle airport shouting at elderly customers who are not familiar with egates.I recommend they take some customer service training.”
