EXTREMELY disappointed with the level of professionalism displayed by this company. When they rent out a property for a client they have a duty of care when there is an issue to resolve the issue and keep everyone up to date. customer service is shocking and very unhelpful.

My self and my partner bought a house with Oakwood and the staff were good and helped out as n wen they could However we was promised the house would be professionally cleaned and all items removed prior to us moving in . When we had the keys this was clear it was NOT cleaned and had rubbish in property. We have had to hire a skip and remove things that were left and this was not it we never received the alarm code and boiler was not working the list goes on . As the made money on the sale of this property you would like to think they would of taken the hit and paid for it for us but no . After reading the reviews I can see it’s not good and for the sake of a few hundred pounds . We would of like to have been in our home this Xmas but it’s going to be a push . I’d stay well clear if Oakwood if your buying or selling based on my experience.

Found them to be thoroughly unhelpful, unproductive and unprofessional. Made promises they never kept and created undue delay in returning funds. Will never recommend them and would never use them again.

I am giving a one star but no star is necessary here. I just want people to be mindful that when all things are okay Oakwood West Drayton capitalise on it but when work needs doing they are incompetent. Oakwood West Drayton practically ruined my family life. i wanted to sell my house and buy another. it appears that my buyer via Oakwood was not checked at all if they could buy my place. I got hounded by Rob to get a solicitor, to sell it was a good offer etc. to cut the very long ordeal short my solicitor wrote asking what day we wanted to complete and all the worms came creeping out. the shock for me is that i visited the Oakwood office after not getting any tangible news to collect my key and they decided to ask questions. 6 weeks wasted because my buyers mortgage was declined and they just kept hoping the mortgage offer will go through. ... well before we pulled out the buyer was declined 3 times. `We lost money needlessly, went through massive stress and so on

Dear Mrs Djemah, I confirm that all buyers are pre-qualified by our team of in-house mortgage advisors, and your buyers were no exception. With regard to your sale; after the buyers’ independent broker submitted an application to a prime lender, the mortgage provider instructed a valuation of your property. However during the underwriting process, they later identified that one of the applications had been the victim of ID fraud on two separate occasions. The broker was in constant communication with the mortgage provider, and was assisting his unfortunate clients in the process of resolving the issue. In the interest of transparency, we conveyed the broker’s updates to you verbatim. I understand that due to a change in your circumstances you had to withdraw from the transaction, however, at that juncture the buyers’ broker was on the verge of achieving an Offer of Mortgage for his clients. As a tenant renting a property I felt the service was very poor. Immediately after the viewing (which was very professional) I decided to rent the property and was encourage to make a (substantial) deposit in favour of reserving the house, some of which was clearly marked as non refundable. After having made this deposit Oakwood informed me of a set of charges that would apply before I could take up tenancy these charges were at the very high end of the market (for a bit so high end service). When I looked through their web site the charges were higher than what was advertised on the site by over 50%! But when I questioned these charges I was threatened with not having my deposit refunded. Right from the start I had made it very clear the dates and time frame for when I wanted to move in. There were ten days from when I paid the deposit until when I wanted to move in. After having paid the (exorbitant) fees I was told that the moving date was arranged for after the time I had requested despite me having returned all the required references within 12 hours of the request. When I asked to move the date the staff laughed at me and told me it wasn't possible. I had to phone repeatedly to talk to anyone because the phone wasn't answered during the day and when it was answered it was by a different branch. Two days before I needed to move they finally agreed to change the moving day and only notified me of the updated date and time of moving at 18:00 the day before I was moving. I had to arrange the movers and all the other logistics of moving at his the day before the move because of this incompetence. They must know what is involved with a move and should work to clarify days will beforehand and actually answer their phones and return messages. I would never recommend that anyone rent through this company, they will over charge you, ignore you, fail to return calls and laugh at your requests.

Dear Anonymous, I’m sorry to hear of your negative experience. If our customer service department would have been made aware of your troubles at the time then we would have done anything within our means to resolve these issues raised. Our fees for all new adult tenants are £150 inclusive of VAT per person which cover all of your referencing, coordination work and drawing up contracts. This is in fact a competitive fixed charge. An Inventory is also recommended as a safe guard against your deposit and proof as to how you receive and return the property. We have an impressive phone system which transfers any incoming call to the next available team member to ensure that no call is missed. We are also open 7 days a week to ensure flexibility amongst our customers. Last week 2677 calls were answered across all of the offices. If for some reason every representative in the company is on the phone at the same time then you will enter a queuing system until the next available members becomes available. It usually takes an average of 5 working days to complete all necessary checks for a new tenancy to start. Once all checks are complete then we can move a new tenant in without delay. Are aim is to always move a new tenant in at the earliest opportunity however there is always a chance for delays if compliance has not been met.

The datchet office needs another manager. He doesn’t bother ringing back or he is in a meeting or out the office. Unbelievable and very strange behaviour ever.

Dear Anonymous, Our Datchet Branch Manager has been in the office all day long and so if you confirm your full name then a call can be made to you immediately. All of the Datchet team also have company mobile phones which means they can take and make calls when they are out of the office as well. Would you mind confirming your name and contact number so we can review your details on the database and cross reference them with our phone logs to confirm who you have been dealing with. Feel free to email datchet.enquries@oakwood-estates.co.uk with the requested details so we can follow this matter up. Yours sincerely Elle Dawson Marketing Executive
