“Wanted to give zero but no option . This company has become cheats !!! We have solar and our bill was $1000!!! Our bills never been this high ever !!! We also had no kitchen for one month!! As we pulled out our old one and getting a new one so we had literally no appliances for the whole month if not more . They tried to blame it on the appliances then when I told them we have none they tried to blame it on the cabinet makers drill ! He had battery one ! They even admitted it was extremely high than it’s ever been . We did the meter reading and apparently it’s correct which I’m not buying into . I will have to contact someone else about this as it’s robbery and not everyone can afford this as we barely can either . Amd solar only took off $100 , so bill would of been more . Will be changing companies and I think these people are trying to fill their scamming pockets while people struggle to pay their bills . I think if everyone didn’t pay their bills and make them go bust to see how it feels to scrape around to pay for something they hardly used . My Aunty her bill was $900 but they run their heater day and night and have no solar panels . This company is becoming a fraud ! Go elsewhere !”
“We put a online request to get a quote from Solar panels from Origin. Soon after the salesmen kept calling 2 to 3 times, MARTIN, JONNEY... all personal details and data was taken by JONNY. Later once the customer asked for a quote, JONNY hang up.
These are cons of the earth just interested in just sales.... $$$$ not the customer...
They lie, no team leader available ..just a bloody joke, abusing the government's solar panels rebates and incentives ...to scam the public....”
“My neighbour asked for electricity for his new house four days ago. His household includes an elderly woman a child and his wife has dyalisis at home. She absolutely need power on for medical reasons. Afree many calls nothing has been done . Should my friend's condition deteriorate Origin will be liable for its lack of duty of care.”
“Been running around for 4 months since iv got a bill with a different address and they have done nothing till now to provide a correct bill and address. Worst energy provider. 😔”
“I have embedded a network with the origin, and I have installed 6.6kw solar panels(for $3000), I was paying $160 per month and now I'm paying $75 per month. It's ridiculous compares to what my friends were getting($10 credit per month, with more tenants). On top of that, they didn't activate my solar panels after 8moths they were already installed, meanwhile, I had to pay for electricity without my feed-in tariff. No compensation was accepted at their end. among numerous other headache issues. I had to call them every day for over the past year to follow up on the solar application and incorrect bills, all I got was pushed around between departments and never responding email from the solar team department for 8 months, also with rubbish like, "it's been escalated", "Please wait patiently your issue will be resolved soon" and most of all "I have passed this to my supervisor he will be following up with u". anyway I got none of that they promised. After over a year of hair pulling struggle with Origin, I decide to share this with those who it may benefit. Hope nobody has to work full-time, be with their family and have to deal with this nonsense on the daily basis.”
“I have been sent a bill for $6,184.41 for an empty office due to COVID with a 13.3KW solar system that usually has a tiny bill or a credit. I contacted Origin a couple of weeks before it was due and they agreed it was an error and that it'll be sorted. What Liars!!! they did nothing at all, and despite calling and calling them they simply say we're looking into it. Meanwhile I'm receiving overdue notices and my credit rating is being shot to pieces. These people do not care and do not understand that demanding money like this when they admit it is as an error is a form of extortion - but they just don't care. So, if you get a fake bill from Origin be prepared to call your lawyer and spend a small fortune having to sue them!”
“Customer service is woeful when there’s a fault on their behalf. They are only interested in sales. My electricity has been accidentally disconnected twice in 12 months. Whenever you call or email you get a new customer representative in another country who has no clue what is going on. It’s been dragging on for 6 months and you never speak with anyone who can actually resolve the issues. There’s no escalation process or system to their customer service. The only way to progress is through the ombudsman which shouldn’t be required to solve simple errors on a large companies behalf. The amount of time lost over 6months is ridiculous. I’ve dealt with other big companies in the past and Origin Energy are by far the WORST. Avoid at all costs”

“I have been a loyal 10 year plus Origin Energy customer. I moved house in January from Sydney to the Gold Coast. Spoke to Origin and organised the move, cut off dates, gave them my new address etc. Turns out that despite confirming the new address details, Origin have sent the old bills plus the new bills to the old address, even though they have my new address and have turned on the power and gas on. As a result, I now have a default listed on my credit rating. I have spoken to various Credit Repair firms who tell me that Origin are the WORST company to deal with, completely unethical and unreasonable. I have emailed all levels at Origin, every time I contact them, they refused to acknowledge that I gave them my new contact details and they have set up a new account in Qld. I will have to take legal action and report them to the Ombudsman to get my credit rating restored. So much for customer loyalty. Would never deal with them again.”
