very limited security shifts. for example I apply for retail, corporate or construction shifts i get rejected slap bang in the face & I have experience. security company's like WJ just go for the favourites & they get accepted for the shifts. Makes me angry 😞 😔

Shifts are good & Ok. But there is no confirmation about car park on site.

Very less pay and not many jobs, also no weekly fee pay.

Hi Mohammed, Sorry to hear you're not happy. The companies decide the pay for each shift and of course, our community can choose which jobs they apply to. We pay monthly, but offer workers access to a portion of their pay through Instant Pay after each shift. Very lengthy process and asks for so many documents to on board. Shows many shifts in app but won't accept even if we apply. Most of the shifts accepted will be working in outside weather. Not reliable, don't depend on this app as full time. It's just for part time. The good thing is only pay rate.

Hi Rohith, Thanks for your feedback. We understand there are several documents you have to provide during onboarding, unfortunately, this is exactly what's required by law for any company working in the security industry. As you'll know, we're a marketplace for shifts posted by many different companies, so naturally, there's a variety of work types; outdoor, events, corporate, retail etc. It's good to see you successfully working shifts on the platform and we hope you continue working with us!

The problem is giving shifts and take them back and give them to some officers honestly I saw them on site seating and hiding unfortunately. Hope the right ppl who get the job

Hi Abdenour, Sorry to hear you've had a poor experience. As you'll know, the platform allows a range of companies to post shifts to our great community of workers. On occasion, companies may cancel shifts with notice, if it's a last-minute cancellation, the worker gets 50% of the full shift pay. Quite disappointing that my work has to be cancelled after 3 days of work even though I have bought an expensive weekly tickets on short notice . Besides, there wasn’t any Orka manager or supervisor to give leadership or direction. Conflicting signals from other security companies supervisors without clear cut out assignments instructions.

Firstly, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We've just checked into this specific matter, and can see that our client (the security company) withdrew the shifts from the platform at very short notice, because they didn't have the management level staff available to support the Orka Works officers on site (as you've pointed out). There are measures on the Orka Works company portal to ensure these incidents are kept to a minimum and where appropriate, companies are warned. Orka has been developed for security companies to compliment their own workforce with great officers to cover shortfalls, mobilise contracts and oversee larger project/events - it needs the management of that security company to make it work. We are not a sub-contractor but an engagement tool to connect companies and officers. We will endeavour to make this clear to both parties. Lack of motivation and low hourly rate for days and night shifts. You don’t provide enough information at the start. You charge money for the workers to withdraw their income as far as I am concerned you already made your service charges from the main clients so therefore it’s not far for the hard workers cash to go easily to you. You say you provide holiday pay in fact you only take some money from the hourly rate and reduce income and after that you put small income to say that you gave holiday pay without time off to the workers. Try more for your workers otherwise your service is not worth of anything without the hard work from the staff.

Our workers don't have to pay a fee for their monthly salary, but we do offer the popular (optional) 'Instant Pay' feature allowing you to be paid instantly, which has a small % charge to fund the facility - this also ensures we don't charge to download the app or have any adverts within the app. We completely understand that the on-boarding experience could be improved and this is actually the next focus for our product team, we'd love to hear your thoughts on this, so please message the team in app!
